WBB | No. 2 Oregon Falls Short of Civil War Sweep at No. 12 Oregon State
No. 2 Oregon women's basketball had its NCAA-best 17-game win streak snapped Monday night, falling 67-62 in the second-leg of the 2019 Civil War series at No. 12 Oregon State.
Just a few nights removed from its woeful perimeter performance in Eugene where the Beavers went just 6-21 from three, Oregon State built an early 20-15 first quarter lead after hitting four of its first six from beyond the arc. Though the shooting cooled down in the second, the Beavers maintained its lead into the break, 33-27. Oregon generated seven turnovers and got up more shots in the opening half, but struggled with just 33% shooting from the field compared to the blistering 50% from Oregon State. Despite keeping its percentage above 50% throughout the third quarter, Oregon began its slow climb back in the game without star forward Ruthy Hebard, who exited the game in the second quarter with a knee injury. The Ducks managed to tie the game at 45-45 with 1:50 to go in the period, before Oregon…

WBB : Sharpshooting and Solid Defense Propels Oregon to 77-68 Civil War Win
A highly anticipated top 10 matchup between the third-ranked Oregon Ducks and ninth-ranked Oregon State Beavers concluded in front of a sold-out Matthew Knight Arena as the Ducks topped the Beavers 77-68 to stay undefeated in conference play.
The Civil War got off to a quick start as both teams traded baskets in the early minutes. A mix Sabrina Ionescu lane penetration and efficient three-point shooting from Satou Sabally gave the Ducks an 18-13 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Oregon State kept themselves in the game against the offensively skilled Ducks behind guard, Aleah Goodman offensive prowess. The Ducks struggled to find good looks going to the hoop in the second half due to 6-8 center, Joanna Grymek. The Polish international gave Ruthy Hebard one of her toughest matchups of the year. Nevertheless, at the end of the first half, the Ducks still prevailed in the half 39-35.
The second half got underway with a bang as both squads…

Riding the nation' longest winning streak at 16, tied for the program's highest-ever ranking at No. 3 in the latest AP Poll, and boasting a perfect 12-0 record in the Pac-12, Oregon women's basketball enters the weekend eager for another challenge. On Friday, the Ducks (23-1) will host in-state rival No. 9 Oregon State (20-4, 10-2) in Eugene before heading to Corvallis for another matchup on Monday night. The double-header features the two teams atop the conference both in record and ranking to go in addition to two of the nation's top perimeter offenses -- the Ducks are No. 1 in three-point percentage at 43.8%, and the Beavers are no. 3 at 41.7%. Plus, each matchup will be a showcase of two of the nation's best teams vying for state supremacy. Previously dominated by Oregon State, which won 14 consecutive Civil War games until Oregon defeated the Beavers 75-64 in Eugene last season, the Ducks now are looking to begin a streak of its own in the 101st and 102nd edition of the women'…
