AUDIO: Civil War Double-Header Next Challenge for No. 3 Oregon Women's Basketball

Riding the nation' longest winning streak at 16, tied for the program's highest-ever ranking at No. 3 in the latest AP Poll, and boasting a perfect 12-0 record in the Pac-12, Oregon women's basketball enters the weekend eager for another challenge. On Friday, the Ducks (23-1) will host in-state rival No. 9 Oregon State (20-4, 10-2) in Eugene before heading to Corvallis for another matchup on Monday night. The double-header features the two teams atop the conference both in record and ranking to go in addition to two of the nation's top perimeter offenses -- the Ducks are No. 1 in three-point percentage at 43.8%, and the Beavers are no. 3 at 41.7%. Plus, each matchup will be a showcase of two of the nation's best teams vying for state supremacy. MBB: Oregon Powers Past Stanford for a 69-46 Victory

Oregon Men's Basketball defeated Stanford 69-46 to complete a home sweep of the Bay Area schools. The Ducks came out firing defensively, allowing just two points in the first 13 minutes of play. Stanford missed 19 of their first 20 shots. Kenny Wooten led the team defensively with five blocks in the first half. Wooten fell in foul trouble midway through the first half, allowing Stanford to creep in a bit for a 30-20 halftime score in favor of the Ducks. In the second half, Oregon was led by their backcourt shooting. Payton Pritchard scored 15 of his 20 points in the second half, and Louis King was right behind him with 17 points. Victor Bailey Jr. added 11 points. The Ducks shot 41% from three in comparison to 17% for the Cardinal. Stanford shot just 27% from the field and only had two players reach double digits. Wooten matched his career high of 7 blocks. With the win, Oregon improves to 6-5 in Pac-12 play to move into fifth place in the standings.

Despite cutting a 19-point deficit to five with under three minutes remaining in regulation, Northwest Christian (18-9) dropped Saturday night's matchup to Southern Oregon (18-9), 87-76.

The Raiders used a 17-2 run at the end of the first half, and to open up the second half, to upset the Beacons, who narrowly defeated them 108-104 on January 11th. Tristen Holmes led Southern Oregon with 17 points on 8-11 shooting, while Teron Bradford followed shortly behind with 16 points on 6-9 shooting. The Raiders dominated the boards, outrebounding NCU 41-26.

NCU's Austin Tyner poured in 17 points, enough to make him only the 10th Beacon to ever score 1000 career points. Tyrus Hosley delivered 17 points as well, on 7-14 from the field.

Coming up, NCU will travel to Corbin University in Salem on February 16th, where the Beacons will complete their regular season.

MBB | NCU Beacons fall in dramatic fashion against the 10th ranked Oregon Tech Owls

A thrilling evening of basketball came to a close at the Morse Event Center, as the 10th ranked Oregon Tech Owls (23-5) took down 25th ranked Northwest Christian Beacons (18-8) by a score of 94-93.

The Cascade Conference foes were both firing right out of the gate with impressive offensive performances. For NCU, the first half was headlined by Ernest Ugoagu who had 17 points and a pair of threes. While for the Owls, the 6’7 Freshman Matt Van Tassell lead the way with 17 points. The Beacons closed the first half with a barrage of three-pointers, hitting 8 total in the period. A mix of efficient shooting and only two turnovers culminated in a 56-44 Beacon lead.

After being down by 12, the second half was taken over by the Owls. Oregon Tech dominated on the offensive glass grabbing 17 rebounds and converting that into 18 second-chance points compared to the Beacons measly 5 second-chance points.
