A New Era at Papé Field for Oregon Women’s Soccer

EUGENE, Ore. - The first season under new head coach Tracy Joyner for Oregon women’s soccer was a rocky one. While the Ducks started the season on a high note, the team struggled to find the back of the net at home and convert shots to goals. However, despite the team’s struggles, players bought into Joyner’s plan, which paid off in the season finale, where Oregon secured a win in front of its home crowd.

The Ducks finished the season with three wins, ten losses, and five draws, while finishing Big Ten conference play with one win, six losses, and four draws.

In the season opener, on Aug. 14, the team defeated Weber State 4-0 at home, with two goals coming off the boot of Taylor Bryan.

“I feel like we just came with a mindset of just a clean slate,” Bryan said after the season opener. “We’re not who we were last year, with a whole bunch of new talent and a whole bunch of new faces and just a different type of grit.”

After a scoreless draw to Portland, the…

Wolves can’t keep pace with Rambus and the Ducks

After a second-round exit in last year's March Madness tournament, the Oregon Ducks returned to Matthew Knight Arena in an exhibition game versus the Western Oregon Wolves. The Kelly Graves-led Ducks came back into MKA after the heartbreaking loss in last year's tournament, but showed no signs of fatigue with a 113-36 win over the Wolves, highlighted by standout junior forward Sarah Rambus.

Rambus was the clear star for this Oregon team, finishing with 28 points, which led the Ducks in their win. Rambus just wouldn't be denied from inside, as if she did miss, she would grab her own rebound and still finish.

“Sarah has grown a lot upstairs mentally, and I'm really proud of her,” Graves said of Rambus. “She can really run the floor, she has really improved all offseason.”

It shows, as Rambus finished with eight rebounds and an assist to go with her game-high in points.

It wasn't just Rambus, though the whole team in this game showed that they could…

Offensive Explosion in Eugene as Ducks Stampede Past Wolves in Exhibition Match

To kick off the weekend of Halloween festivities, fans piled into Matthew Knight Arena to witness an interstate women's basketball matchup between the Oregon Ducks and the Western Oregon Wolves. After a second-round exit in last year's NCAA tournament, the Ducks came into this exhibition match once again led by head coach Kelly Graves in his 12th year leading the Ducks. The Wolves came to Eugene, led by head coach Jessica Peatross, after a 9th-place finish in the GNAC conference.

Going into the 2025-2026 season, the Ducks returned nine letterwinners, led by two starting guards, Sofia Bell and Elisa Mevius, as well as post Amina Muhamad. The Ducks also brought in three transfers: two seniors in Mia Jacobs and Astera Tuhina, along with sophomore Avary Cain.

From the first tip, the Ducks started the first quarter on a tear. With a blend of well-executed offense and defense, Oregon went on a 15-0 run to start the game. After quarter one, the Ducks showed no…

Oregon Women’s Basketball Appears Reloaded Ahead of 2025-26 Campaign

College basketball has become a frenzy in the 2020s. With players transferring out or leaving to play professionally early, it has become so difficult to build a foundation for a quality team, then keep that team intact.

The 2025 Oregon Ducks women’s basketball team has done just that. In a complete reversal of the norm, Oregon didn’t lose a single player to the transfer portal, yet added three new key pieces.

It starts with senior guard Astera Tuhina, a 5-foot-9 fireball who transferred over from the Washington State Cougars. The deep shooting senior had multiple big moments for the Cougars last season, one being a game-winning long 3-pointer against Eastern Washington. Last season, she put up 7.8 points per game, 3.7 rebounds per game and 3.7 assists per game. Her shortcomings are seen with her field goal percentage as she only notched a 36.4% mark, but the triples do drop as she dialed that same number from beyond the arc.

In a new, competitive system with…

Oregon Volleyball Fights Hard, but Falls Short with 3-1 Loss to Wisconsin

Fans of Oregon Ducks volleyball (13-7, 4-6 Big Ten) sought shelter from the rain inside Matthew Knight Arena as the No. 12-ranked Wisconsin Badgers (15-3, 8-2 Big Ten) were in town to take on the Ducks on Sunday.

In the final moments of the match, the Ducks were down 2-1 and desperate to score three straight points to stay alive down 26-25 in the fourth set. As both teams rallied, the Badgers lobbed a set up, and from the trenches of the court, former Duck and senior outside hitter Mimi Colyer geared up and hammered a spike that found hardwood on the Oregon side and sealed the 3-1 win for Wisconsin.

One half of the two-headed monster for Oregon was freshman outside Alanah Clemente, who had 17 kills.

Oregon was coming off a needed sweep of the No. 25-ranked UCLA Bruins in Los Angeles on Wednesday. This was the Ducks’ second-ranked win of the season, the first being a 3-1 victory over the No. 18 Minnesota Golden Gophers on Oct. 17.

The Badgers were coming off…

The 2025 Oregon Ducks Define Big Ten Football

Big Ten football has long been defined by two things: 1) running the football, and 2) defending the run. When the great conference shift occurred a little over a year ago, it was certain that the scope of college football would be forever changed. With that, there were questions about how Oregon would fare in a new conference, no longer being exclusively grouped with fellow Pacific Coast schools that varied wildly in scheme.

Joining the Big Ten, Oregon entered a new scene of gritty, tenacious, and stout opponents that prided themselves on winning in the trenches and running teams into oblivion. No more representative of this identity are the Wisconsin Badgers, who have been part of the conference for 129 years and are one of its seven founding institutions. The Badgers (2-5, 0-4 Big Ten) made the trip to take on the No. 6 Oregon Ducks (6-1, 3-1 Big Ten) on Saturday, Oct. 25th, with the intentions of playing exactly that way, just as they did a year ago in a near upset of…

No. 6 Oregon trudges past Wisconsin 21-7 in soggy afternoon at Autzen

EUGENE, Ore. – For the second consecutive season,  No. 6 Oregon (7-1, 4-1 Big Ten) failed to find much offense against Wisconsin (2-6, 0-5 Big Ten) in its eighth-ever meeting against the Badgers. Nevertheless, behind a stifling defensive showing and another sold-out crowd at Autzen Stadium, the Ducks were able to overcome the rain and find the finish line on Saturday, improving to 5-3 all-time versus the men from Madison.

Harkening back to mid-November of last year, Oregon survived an upset bid from Wisconsin on the road at Camp-Randall Stadium, holding on to win 16-13. The 2025 edition of Ducks and Badgers saw more low-scoring football as Oregon, in its second season as a member of the Big Ten Conference, has only been able to muster 37 points (18.5 average) combined in the pair of meetings with the Badgers. Yet, against all other Big Ten opponents, the Ducks are averaging 36.3 points per game in their 11 regular-season contests.

“It became really apparent early…

In a Pass-Heavy World, the Thurston Colts Feed Off a Menacing Run Attack

The Eugene-Springfield area has been spoiled in riches with the headlining seven-headed monster backfield of the 2025 Oregon Ducks squad. While the numbers at the back end of the unit have dropped and the starters have shone deeper into the season, the big four of senior running back Noah Whittington (336 yards), freshman Dierre Hill Jr. (329 yards), freshman Jordan Davison (250 yards), and junior Jayden Limar (249 yards) have dominated college football.

It turns out this region of Oregon has this luxury at the high school level as well.

The Thurston Colts of Thurston High School, led by head coach Justin Starck in his 23rd season, have built a four-man running back room that terrorized the Special District 4 league of 5A Oregon high school football.

Early on in their game against the No. 25-ranked North Eugene Highlanders, sophomore running back Quinten Fisher took a handoff and bowled his way from the goal line into the endzone to give the Colts an early 6-0…

Thurston’s Fast Start Powers 26–6 Win and Home Playoff Berth

EUGENE, Ore. — A heavy pregame downpour soaked the seats and slicked the field, but there was still something electric in the air at North Eugene High School, where two teams from the same region and two very different seasons met on the gridiron.

The Thurston Colts (7–1) had taken a short 20-minute trip northwest into Eugene, riding a six-game win streak and an offense that had been nearly impossible to slow down.

Sophomore wideout Bodie Bonar – averaging 86 yards per game with seven touchdowns on the season – has stretched the field all season, while elusive junior running back Justin Fisher contributed 106 rushing yards per game despite his smaller frame. Junior quarterback Emmitt DiStefano has also kept it all composed with 16 touchdown passes and poised decision-making.

And although North Eugene (4-4) had entered on a two-game skid, the Highlanders were determined to send their seniors off with a statement, leaning on senior running back Riley…
