Oregon women's basketball drops its fourth straight loss to Minnesota, 65-60

Matthew Knight Arena hosted a Big Ten clash of women's basketball with the Minnesota Golden Gophers packing their bags and heading to the west coast to take on the Oregon Ducks, in the last game of their road trip. The Golden Gophers came into the matchup looking to get back into the win column after losing to the Washington Huskies 67-54. For the Ducks, they were looking to bounce back in a big way after taking a crushing double-overtime loss to Wisconsin, 94-92.

“That happens, it's part of the Big Ten… that makes it tough,” head coach Kelly Graves said of the impact of a tough game stacked with travel. “But I’m not gonna use that as an excuse, which is why I'll answer it in here and not to the players, but yeah that's always an issue.”

Heading into the match-up, Graves and the Ducks led the all-time series 3-0. The last time the two teams came across each other was in February of 2025 on Minnesota’s home court.

The game began with both teams struggling to…

Oregon’s Women’s Basketball Falls Short Against 15th-Ranked Michigan State 85-81

Oregon women’s basketball went into Sunday's game after an astounding win against No. 21 USC, with the Ducks taking it 71-66. They also hoped to extend their win streak in the new year after beating Northwestern ten days prior.

The Ducks began the game with a 3-point shot by Sofia Bell, and the Spartans shortly followed with a layup from Jalyn Brown.

Bell continued leading Oregon’s offense, going 4-for-4 from distance during the first quarter and putting the first twelve points on the board for the Ducks.

Katie Fiso also dominated the court and put up six points for the Ducks with three assists, along with Mia Jacobs, whose second-chance layup at the buzzer had Oregon leading 31-20.

In the second quarter, the Ducks once again led with a jumper by Sarah Rambus on a fast break.

But the Spartans quickly reacted and went on the offense, scoring five points in a row with three steals and five turnovers.

Both sides were…

From Halftime Doubt to Dominance: Kaleb Burnett Helps Lead Bushnell Men's Basketball to Victory

EUGENE, Ore. – Bushnell trailed a winless Walla Walla team at halftime, entering the locker room down 44-38. For the Beacons, the moment demanded a spark. It came from redshirt sophomore Kaleb Burnett. Burnett picked up the pace after the break, attacking with confidence and starting a comeback that turned the tone of the game and the atmosphere inside the Morse Center.

Burnett's impact reached beyond the box score. During a half when every possession mattered, his enthusiasm changed the game's rhythm, forcing defensive adjustments and boosting the Beacons. For the sophomore, who seized the opportunity when his team most needed it, what had started out as a quiet first half became a pivotal period. It all changed when Burnett went into the locker room.

“I was just sitting in the locker room thinking this is just not me, this is not how I play,” Burnett said.

A second-half surge that changed the course of the game unfolded. Burnett shot 12-of-22 from the field and…

Bushnell Women's Basketball Makes a Major Comeback Against Walla Walla University After a Loss

EUGENE, Ore. — Coming off a loss against Lewis-Clark State and breaking off their two-game win streak, Bushnell University put everything into its play to take down Walla Walla University 71-46.

The Wolves started great in the first quarter, making the first points of the game with Brooklyn Coe's 3-pointer.

But the Beacons didn’t let them stay in the lead for long, with Maddie Gerhart coming in and making all six of the first points, as Bushnell put up a strong defense against Walla Walla.

The Beacons continued to keep the Wolves on their toes as they ended the first quarter with a 17-14 lead, a strong start after their loss.

From the get-go of the second quarter, the Beacons were hot, extending their lead to seven with 8:45 to play in the quarter. The Wolves struggled to keep up with their pace at the start of the quarter.

Walla Walla was not doing well in the second quarter, with foul after foul called against them, and Coe…

Rebounds and Defense Light the Flame for Bushnell Women's Basketball

EUGENE, ORE. — The Bushnell Beacons (4-11) women's basketball team faced off against the Walla Walla University Wolves (2-11) on Saturday, Jan. 20. Coming into the game, Bushnell was led by the star senior guard Ayden Krupke, pacing the team in points, field goals, three pointers, steals, and minutes.

After Friday's loss against Lewis-Clark State, Bushnell looked to rebound literally and figuratively.

“So it's about shot selection first and foremost. Beyond the shot selection, it becomes about we know a shot is going up, let's go get it,” head coach Chad Meadors said before the game. “We had ten offensive rebounds last night. We need 14,15,16. We need to get those extra plays. When the shots don't go in, let's get to the line more, let's make that extra pass. I think we can get caught up in the shots we miss. There are times where we just have to be more consistent to play at the level we are accustomed to over the year."

Bushnell sophomore Maddie Gerheart…

Oregon fumbles away National Championship game appearance in Peach Bowl loss to Indiana

Atlanta, GA — Dante Moore and the No. 5 Oregon Ducks’ (13-2) offense took the field trailing the No. 1 Indiana Hoosiers (15-0) 14-7 with 9:35 left in the second quarter in the Peach Bowl. Oregon’s defense just forced Indiana into its first punt of the day as freshman outside linebacker Nasir Wyatt collected his first forced fumble and third sack of his career. The Ducks’ offense looked capable of hanging with the Hoosiers’ potent unit, responding to the opening-play pick-six with a 14-play, 75-yard touchdown drive, and needing another scoring drive to hang with them.

On the first play of the drive, Moore wound up to whip a quick pass to Dakorien Moore on the left side, but the ball hit running back Dierre Hill Jr. in the shoulder, knocking it free to roll into the hands of Indiana defensive linemen Mario Landino at the Oregon 3-yard line. A catastrophic play that encapsulated what was to come.

The Hoosiers scored 35 unanswered points and steamrolled the…

Unstoppable Force vs. Immoveable Object: How Oregon Got it Done at the Orange Bowl

The matchup in Miami was statistically about as even as you could get. The Oregon Ducks, a team that has established themselves as deep and efficient, were set to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders, who were bringing a defense few teams could find success against. Both game plans were expected to rely on the long ball, but instead, fans got a relentless battle.

“They're good. We thought it'd be about explosive plays,” head coach Dan Lanning said. “There weren't a ton of explosive plays in this game, right? Really, for either side, but the physicality showed up for our guys down the stretch.”

The first quarter was a battle of the defenses, though Oregon was able to find some momentum in its pass game. Quarterback Dante Moore started 11-for-13 with 93 yards and looked comfortable in the pocket with a 26-yard pass to tight end Jamari Johnson. This was the highlight of the Ducks’ long game for the first quarter, and quite possibly the first half. Moore was met with a sack…
