Oregon defeated UCLA 3-0 (25-23, 26-24, 25-16) at home on Friday. UCLA jumped out to an 11-2 lead early in set one behind 4 service aces by Jenny Mosser. Oregon used several runs to bring them all the way back into a close-set. The Ducks took its first lead of the night on set point and closed it out, 25-23. Set two was back and forth the whole way, but a late serving stretch by Elise Ferreira (18 assists, 4 digs) to take set two 26-24. With the comfort of a 2-0 lead, Oregon proceeded to have a field day in set 3 to take the set 25-16 and the 3-0 victory. Washington State, on the other hand, has had a poor couple of weeks after starting the season on fire. The Ducks currently stand at 47 in the RPI and taking down the Cougars would be instrumental in the fight to make the schools first-ever NCAA tournament.
