Oregon Soccer is still searching for their first conference win of the season after a 1-0 loss to Washington State Saturday night at Pape Field. Oregon came out strong and picked up three shots in the opening 10 minutes of play. After the initial rush by the Ducks, it turned to Cougar domination quickly. The scoreboard read 0-0 and Oregon was lucky to be in the scenario being out-shot 13-3 in the period. It got worse for the Ducks in the second half when Washington State striker Elyse Bennett headed home the only goal of the game in the 67th minute off a corner. Overall the Ducks did well defensively against a Washington State team who sits at 21 in the RPI. The impressive performance at the back was squandered by an Oregon attack which didn't muster a single shot on target. Oregon looks to climb out of last place in the conference next week against Arizona State and Arizona on the road.
