#6 Oregon (12-2, 8-1) defeated #8 Wisconsin (10-4, 7-2) in the 106th Rose Bowl game on January 1st, 2019 in front of a near-capacity crowd of 90,462 fans. In a sea of red and green, Oregon's Quarterback Justin Herbert stole the show, racing for a career-high three rushing touchdowns, and cementing his four-year resume as Oregon's starting quarterback with a Rose Bowl. Just Oregon's fourth Rose Bowl victory in its history, the game in Pasadena carried added significance. A 4-8 record just four years ago, and with their third head coach in that span, Mario Cristobal and the Ducks were able to turn-around a program at an incredible pace.
Aided by four Wisconsin turnovers, the opportune Ducks converted 21 points off of Badger errors, despite being outgained by Wisconsin 322 to 204. Running back and first-team All American Jonathan Taylor outgained Oregon's CJ Verdell 94-51. Senior transfer receiver Juwan Johnson led Wednesday's game in receiving with 66 yards on five catches.
Despite missing a prime opportunity to make the College Football Playoff, Oregon capped off just their fourth 12-win season in program history.
