STORY: Oregon Volleyball Starts on Fire but Fizzles Out after the First Set
Oregon Volleyball falls to Stanford in four sets in front of an energetic crowd at Matthew Knight Arena Friday night. To the surprise of many, including Oregon, star Cardinal outside hitter Kathryn Plummer did not suit up for the match. The Ducks took advantage of a Plummer-less Stanford squad, taking the first set 25-21 behind Brooke Nuneviller's six kills. Oregon and their fans had a rude awakening when Stanford scored the first five points of set two and took the set 25-11. The 24th ranked Oregon Ducks and the 3rd ranked Stanford Cardinal kept it close in sets three and four but it was Stanford who ended up victorious taking both sets 25-19. Stanford improves to 8-3 while the Ducks fall further below .500 at 5-7. The Ducks, who most likely need a win to stay in the rankings take on the 19th ranked California Golden Bears Sunday at 1 pm inside Matthew Knight Arena.

STORY: Oregon Looks to Get Rushing Attack Going Off a Bye Week
Last season, CJ Verdell and Travis Dye took the Pac-12 by storm in their first season's with a conference-leading 28 rushing TDs. This season, the rushing attack hasn't been as stout for the Ducks, who have just 5 rushing TDs in 4 games. With an elite offensive line and the same backfield, it's been a surprise that Oregon hasn't been able to run the ball as successfully this season. With 4 games down and a valuable bye week being utilized by the Ducks in week 5, we'll see if Oregon can get back to it's old ways on the ground.
