SOC | UCLA Beats The Ducks In Dominant Fashion On Senior Night
Oregon soccer falls 1-0 to UCLA Sunday afternoon at Pape Field. After a two-loss weekend, the Ducks move to 5-8-5 and officially wave goodbye to the possibility of the program's first NCAA tournament appearance. This was Oregon’s final game of the 2019 season at Pape Field. While Oregon played very well in a 1-0 loss to USC Halloween night, it was a different story against Jessie Fleming and UCLA. Oregon didn’t have a shot on target until late in the second half and conceded 20 shots to UCLA with seven finding their way on target. The Bruins solo goal came in the 25th minute when junior center back Lucy Parker was in the right place at the right time to finish a ball sitting in the six-yard box off a corner. Oregon will look to bounce back on the road against Oregon State Thursday night.

After a topsy turvy opening half on Saturday, No. 7 Oregon responded by blowing out USC 56-24 with an emphatic second half performance in Los Angeles. The Ducks, now 8-1 overall and 6-0 in Pac-12 play, leaned on the defense's four disruptive turnovers, converting each Trojan mistake into touchdowns the other way. While the offense was flat in the opening half, Justin Herbert collected himself in the second and found a new redzone threat in Penn State transfer Juwan Johnson. The 6-foot-4 receiver hauled in his first, second, and third career touchdown passes at Oregon and helped ignite the Ducks' second half spree. USC, now 5-4 overall and 4-2 in conference play, falls out of a tie with Utah for first-place in the Pac-12 South as the Ducks continue to cement themselves as the leader in the Pac-12 North. Oregon heads into a bye week and awaits the College Football Playoff committee's debut 2019 rankings on Tuesday to see if they will continue to ascend into the national conversation…

Read MoreSTORY: Oregon Women's Soccer Tragically Falls To The Women Of Troy
On a chilly, Halloween night at Pape Field, the Oregon Ducks faced the 11th ranked USC Trojans on the soccer pitch, losing a close 1-0 game after a Penelope Hocking goal in the 77th minute proved to be all that was needed for the Women of Troy. The Ducks held tough against the highly touted USC squad for the first half, but around the 70th minute, the Trojans began accumulating a lot of quality shots with an aggressive attack, and eventually one poked through, despite goalkeeper Katelyn Carter's best efforts. The Ducks nearly knotted it up in the final stages of the game off a Caitlin Shaw rocket, but the Trojans goalkeeper made the save of the night, leaping and lunging to her left to make a spectacular save. Oregon now moves to 1-6-2 in Pac-12 play, but will look to improve upon that mark on Sunday as they will face the UCLA Bruins, once again in Eugene at 1 pm.
