By: Sam Greenville and Cole Rothman

This game had all the billing coming into the evening: ESPN, celebrity appearances, potential top 10 draft picks, and a Pac-12 rivalry renewed into the start of a new decade as the #24 ranked University of Arizona Wildcats (11-4) came into Matthew Knight Arena to square off against the 9th ranked Oregon Ducks (13-3) in a game that became a war of attrition and a treat for all those in attendance. This showdown had all the glitz and glamour and quickly turned into a nail biting, flip-flopping, overtime thriller that ended with a raucous Matthew Knight Area screaming for joy as the Ducks made a crucial stop (twice) with 10 seconds left and the ball in the hands of the Wildcats. Oregon would only lead for 5 minutes, be tied for another 5, and trailing for the other 35 minutes. Spectacular, mesmerizing, astonishing; these words can all be used to describe this spectacle, but when it comes down to it, the only word that…

AUDIO: #9 Oregon Men's Basketball Gearing Up for Home Conference Opener

Entering the previous weekend the Oregon Ducks sat at number four in the rankings but after a loss in Colorado and a narrow victory against Utah, the Ducks drop to ninth. Fortunately for the Ducks, #24, Arizona is coming to town Thursday night so a statement win and quick turnaround may be in the cards. Arizona has a blend of talented Freshman and experience under Sean Miller and opened eyes blowing out Arizona State last game 75-47. Last season sweeping the Arizona programs was the weekend that put the Ducks season back on track. Before the weekend affair with the two Arizona schools, head coach Dana Altman and forward Shakur Juiston addressed the media before practice Wednesday afternoon.

WBB | Oregon Dismantle Mountain Schools to Open PAC-12 Play

The Ducks topple Utah 88-51 on family day at Matthew Knight Arena. Coming off a dominant 104-46 win against Colorado Friday night the Ducks carry over the momentum into Sundays contest versus Utah. The Ducks had the upper-hand early, going up double digits less than four minutes into the game in big part to a pair of Erin Boley three-pointers.

After the first quarter trouncing, Utah never came close with the Ducks winning every quarter including a third-quarter which saw Oregon put up 24 points while holding Utah to just nine. While Oregon didn’t quite put up the staggering 104 points as they did against Colorado, stingy defense for the Ducks prevailed yet again. No one Duck stole the show in big part to Kelly Graves going 10 deep. Sabrina Ionescu put up 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists while Minyon Moore chipped in with 17 points of her own.

In both matchups this weekend, Matthew Knight Arena had an excess of 10,000 in attendance but the Ducks will…
