Thurston’s Furious Run Game Dices Eagle Point in a 47-6 Trouncing in Friday Showdown

The Friday night lights beamed down at Thurston High School for the first time this football season as the No. 34-ranked Eagle Point Eagles (0-2) took on the No. 15-ranked Thurston Colts (1-1).

As the clock ticked toward the two-minute mark in the first half, the Colts had the ball around the 50-yard line and were hunting an early dagger as they led 33-0. Junior quarterback Emmit Distefano took the snap, dropped back, stayed patient and lofted one over the middle and into the arms of sophomore wide receiver Bodie Bonar for the touchdown. The extra point sailed through to make it 40-0, and it was all Thurston early.

Leading the way for the Colts offense was senior running back Justin Fisher, who had 11 carries for 126 yards and three touchdowns.

“Really proud of Justin,” Thurston head coach Justin Starck said. “He ran so hard and showed his speed and explosiveness. We’re just tickled to death for him.”

Thurston came into this game off a gut-punch 35-6 road…

No. 6 Oregon football rolls over Oklahoma State 69-3 behind explosive offense

No. 6 Oregon (2-0) delivered a blowout performance at Autzen Stadium on Saturday, dismantling the Oklahoma State Cowboys (1-1) in dominant 69-3 fashion. With 631 yards of total offense, the Ducks looked unstoppable, led by quarterback Dante Moore.

Oregon wasted no time setting the tone. On just the second offensive play, sixth-year senior running back Noah Whittington broke through the middle for a 59-yard touchdown, making that his longest rush of his career, showcasing both his poise as a veteran on this team.

“This guy’s got juice—he’s never had a bad day,” said Oregon head coach Dan Lanning. “He’s tough as nails and embodies what it means to be an Oregon Duck.”

True freshman wide receiver Dakorien Moore followed with a highlight-reel moment of his own — burning his defender for a 65-yard touchdown — the longest reception of his young career. A failed two-point conversion attempt left the Ducks up 13-0.

Before the end of the first quarter, another true…

Hess: Dan Lanning Has Unlocked A New Level of Intensity With Oregon Football

EUGENE, Ore. – It’s been 1,099 days since Dan Lanning first put on the headset as head football coach for the Oregon Ducks back in September of 2022. The hours that followed prompted a 49-3 thrashing at the hands of the Georgia Bulldogs, a team Lanning helped win a national championship as the defensive coordinator the prior season. Fast forward three years to 2025, and Lanning has since compiled a career record of 37-6, wins in both the Holiday and Fiesta Bowls, along with a Big Ten Conference Championship in a short time frame. Now into his fourth season at the helm in Eugene, Lanning’s head coaching debut feels like nothing but a footnote.

Following a 59-13 blowout victory over Montana State last Saturday, No. 6 Oregon (2-0) welcomed Oklahoma State (1-1) to Autzen Stadium for Week 2. Days before the opening kickoff, longtime OSU head coach Mike Gundy had made comments about the large financial efforts the Oregon football program has been able to make in NIL and the…

Alanah Clemente and the front line give Oregon volleyball home-opener success

With 15 new faces, Oregon volleyball made its home debut last night in Eugene. In a sweep over Portland, this team is now on a four-game win streak and hungry for more.

“Our pins have passed very, very well up to this point, and so it keeps off of them in the passing rotation,” head coach Trent Kersten said. “I know it's an area that we want to develop in (Valentina Vaulet) specifically — that’s one of the reasons she came here was to be developed as a passer — and she’s playing great. We also have people that can complement her: Maria (Tabacuks), Sophia (Meyers), (Ksenija Tomic), and Alanah (Clemente’s), not quite in the passing rotation yet, but we have some options."

After being named Big Ten Freshman of the Week, Clemente continues to show why she’s a key component to this defense. With three blocks, tying outside hitters Tomic and …

Oregon Volleyball sweeps in home opener, improves record to 4-0

The ball was set for freshman opposite hitter Alanah Clemente, and she delivered, spiking it straight into the hardwood. The reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Week sealed the game with this hit and gave the Oregon Ducks (4-0, 0-0 Big Ten) their first home win of the season in their home opener versus the Portland Pilots. (3-1, 0-0 WCC)

Both teams entered Wednesday’s match with 3-0, undefeated records. Oregon recently swept Montana State, while Portland did the same to the Idaho Vandals.

With nearly an entirely new roster this year, the Ducks are still building chemistry, but this win gave them the confidence they need to continue rolling. Freshman setter, Kamden Mitchell, gave credit for their success to working well as a unit, explaining that “It’s probably the biggest setter ‘yes’ when you can feed them the ball and they can just crush it.”

While Clemente and many others had a huge impact on the Ducks’ win, the real star of the night was junior opposite…

Oregon Women’s Soccer drops second straight at home

EUGENE, Ore. - Coming off their first home defeat of the season, Oregon Women’s Soccer (2-3-1) looked to rebound against the Grand Canyon University (GCU) Antelopes (3-1-0) at home. In an intense offensive battle, the Ducks dropped their second straight match and fell short 0-2, despite a strong second half.

“As a coach, it’s about playing 90 minutes solid, not 45,” Oregon head coach Tracy Joyner said. “It’s a long game and a long season, so the mentality and resilience that we showed in the second half, we got to make sure we extend that to the first half as well.”

Oregon started off the game with Sydney Chura creating an early look for the Ducks in the fourth minute, but Antelopes goalkeeper Emma Knack saved the shot.

Grand Canyon responded instantly in the fifth minute with a goal off the boot of Hannah Smith, putting the Ducks in an early 0-1 deficit.

Oregon had four opportunities in a five-minute span, with Cloe Chase heading the ball in the 11th minute…

The Ducks Dominate Against the Montana State Bobcats with a Blowout Victory in the 2025 Football Season Home Opener

The wait is finally over. College football is back, with head coach Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks ready to take on their second season in the Big Ten. Saturday, the No. 7 Ducks hosted the Montana State Bobcats for their 2025 season opener. After an off-season filled with injuries, delays and drama, the Ducks exceeded expectations and delivered a powerful 59-13 win.

Coming into the game, Oregon’s roster saw a lot of new faces, as they lost 10 crucial players to last year’s draft. Offensively, Lanning took his time to name the team’s starting quarterback. Ultimately, he gave the spot to redshirt sophomore Dante Moore. Moore presented himself as the best fit for the position, following in the footsteps of two veteran quarterbacks, Bo Nix and Dillion Gabriel. On the defensive side, the Ducks had a lot of shoes to fill, with a majority of their big names being lost to the draft. Overall, Oregon had one of the top draft classes, which set high expectations for the season…

Star Freshmen Get Their Feathers Wet

The 2025 season opener was full of excitement for fans of Oregon Football. With so much roster turnover, speculative fans and experts waited long for this day to hopefully answer their big question. Who’s going to play? The answer: everyone.

The biggest surprise? The number of freshman playmakers who got snaps in this first game. The Ducks rotated players at every position, allowing twelve true freshmen an opportunity to showcase the talent that brought them to Oregon.

“We’ve always said it, if you’re good enough, you’re old enough,” head coach Dan Lanning said. “If you’re good enough, you’ll get an opportunity to play, and we have a lot of guys that are good enough right now.”

While the season is just underway, this freshman class already looks like they could end their careers as Oregon’s best to date.

Oregon’s 2025 recruiting class ranked fifth in the nation according to 247Sports, boasting an average rating of 94.35. The Ducks were the only team with a…

Oregon women’s soccer lose its first home match of the season 1-0

EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon Women’s Soccer (2-2-1) entered the match against the New Mexico Lobos (2-0-2) having yet to concede a goal at home this season. However, the streak ended Thursday as the Ducks recorded their home loss of the season, dropping the match 1-0.

Oregon sixth-year goalkeeper Caeley Goldstein had to make a couple of early saves, as the Lobos applied offensive pressure in the opening minutes of the game.

"I think we were a little bit like, shocked in the beginning, in the first, middle, 10-15, in the first half, where we were adjusting to their numbers coming forward, but I think we showed up in the way that I would want us to show up," Oregon head coach Tracy Joyner said. "And they battled."

The Ducks were able to get offensive momentum of their own with a wide shot coming off the boot of sophomore Abella Hunter in the eighth minute.

"Hunter's so good off the dribble. She was really dynamic for us," Joyner said. "We got big expectations…

Oregon Women's Soccer takes a scoreless draw against the Portland Pilots

EUGENE, Ore. - The Tracy Joyner era of Oregon Women’s Soccer (1-0-1) stays unbeaten in a scoreless draw against the Portland Pilots (0-0-1).

In the 12th minute, an offensive attack, spearheaded by sophomore midfielder Carly Cormack, gave the Ducks their first clear shot on the goal, but sixth-year senior Taylor Bryan missed just to the right of the goalpost. Just a minute later, forward Lauren Kenny also missed to the right.

Bryan, coming off a two-goal game against Weber State, took a shot on the bottom right corner in the 19th minute, but it was saved by Pilots goalkeeper Sophia Hills.

Portland’s first shot on goal came in the 24th minute, with Hailey Still taking a strike right into the hands of Oregon’s goalkeeper Caeley Goldstein.

A stoppage came in the 26th minute after a tie-up, which led to Bryan receiving medical attention on the pitch, but she quickly reentered the game after play resumed.

Both teams struggled to find momentum on the…
