Setrakian: Mimi Colyer and Michelle Ohwobete’s Symbiotic Domination is Too Sweet for the Ducks
After an all-around shaky first set for the Oregon Ducks in which Michelle Ohwobete shined bright, no moment was brighter than her emphatic kill and block on back-to-back plays to score the Ducks’ 24th and second-set-clinching 25th point -- sending the Duck faithful into a frenzy that Ohwobete matched with a scream of her own.
The senior outside hitter’s intensity undoubtedly anchored the Ducks’ energy the rest of the way, ensuring that this would not be the final game of her career.
“Michelle is very stable, and she’s really good at communicating,” middle blocker Onye Ofoegbu said about Ohwobete’s second set. “She’s really good about being intentional with her play, and that energy for us always makes us feel more stable. It feels like she’s a foundational player on our team. It’s awesome.”
Beyond her energetic impact, Ohwobete lit up the score sheet, notching her third double-double in the last four games, and ninth…

The Oregon Ducks took on the TCU Horned Frogs in Eugene, Ore. with a chance at the Sweet 16 on the line. The Ducks came into this playoff matchup against TCU knowing this would be a tough task.
While the Ducks were ranked higher at No. 14, TCU was ranked at No. 20. This was daunting for the Ducks, as they struggled against ranked opponents this season, sitting at a 4-6 record. These fears were apparent after the first set, as the Ducks were handled 25-19.
They looked more of the same in the second set until a fire was lit underneath the entire Oregon squad. A 9-3 scoring run, started by an electric kill from Colby Neal, fueled the Ducks out to a 19-16 lead. After some back and forth, a 4-0 Ducks scoring run iced the set at 25-21. This energetic second half of Set 2 gave the Ducks the momentum that they needed for blowout Sets 3 and 4 which gave Oregon the victory.
Oregon was coming off of a first-round sweep of…

No. 1 Oregon takes down Washington in 117th Cascade Clash
On the final day of regular season college football, one of the most storied Pac-12 rivalries met for their first meeting since joining the Big Ten Conference. No.1 Oregon (12-0, 9-0 Big Ten) played host to Washington (6-6, 4-5 Big Ten) and completed the quest of finishing off a perfect regular season for the first time since 2010 and the second time in program history.
It was a cold, cloudy evening in Eugene, with the temperature hovering just above 30 degrees for the Senior Night game. Oregon started with the football after Washington won the toss and elected to kick. From the very first drive, it was clear that running back Jordan James and the run game would play the main role in the Ducks’ game plan, given the weather conditions.
Oregon ran nine plays in its opening drive — six of them on the ground, with five carries going to James. Noah Whittington capped off the drive with a nine-yard touchdown run, and the Ducks were in…

True sophomore opposite hitter Noemie Glover helped the No. 13 Oregon Ducks to stay neck-and-neck versus No. 8 Purdue Boilermakers through a tough five-set loss on Wednesday.
Coming off of a two-match win streak beating Michigan State and Michigan consecutively, Glover and the Ducks had hoped to use this momentum to stay undefeated for the rest of the regular season.
Oregon was looking for its first win against a top-10 opponent this season but ultimately fell short.
The Ducks entered the week having recorded double-digit blocks in five consecutive matches. Overall, the Ducks have now reached 10 or more blocks in 13 matches this season, nine of those coming during Big Ten play.
Glover tallied six block assists on Wednesday night to now put her season total at an impressive 86.
“I feel like I just have to come into the game knowing I have to score big points for our team to be…
