AUDIO: Oregon Track and Field Readies to Defend PAC-12 Crown
Following one last final home meet at Historic Hayward Field, Oregon Track and Field is shifting their focus to the PAC-12 championships. Both Kylee O'Connor and Austin Torres kicked off the PAC-12 Championships this previous weekend for the Ducks with two sixth place finishes in the Mutli-Event Championships. Head Coach Robert Johnson complimented his two athletes and said its a great start heading into this weekends meet. "Anytime we can go to a championship setting and put points on the board for the team, that's always a plus." The Ducks will be sending the rest of their track and field athletes down to Stanford this weekend to defend their PAC-12 crown. Oregon will be seeking their 10th consecutive sweep of the conference team titles, and the Oregon men are seeking their 12th straight PAC-12 Championship.

Oregon ace Megan Kleist (19-5) insured that the number two team in the nation would walk away with a victory. The sophomore struck out six batters and allowed only 6 hits to lead Oregon to a 9-1 victory. The four Oregon seniors, Jenna Lilley, DJ Sanders, Lauren Lindvall, and Gwen Svekis, totaled five hits (of Oregon's six) and contributed six RBIs in the Oregon victory. Utah's Ally Dickman accounted for the team's only RBI, singling in Kelly Martinez in the fourth inning. The Ducks head to UC-Berkley to take on the Bears on Thursday, May 10.

Oregon Track and Field Combines Past and Present for Last Home Meet At Historic Hayward Field
Oregon Track & Field held their final home meet of the season on Friday, as a variety of local schools and former Oregon athletes such as Devon Allen, Raevyn Rogers, Kyree King, Jasmine Todd, Marcus Chambers and a hoist of other alumni came to compete. The alumni stole the show in this meet; Devon Allen won the 110m hurdles and the 100m, Raevyn Rogers won the womens 400m and Mike Berry won the mens 400m, Marcus Chambers won the 200m, just to name a few. For the Oregon men's squad, notable performances included Sam Prakel winning the 800m, Myles Webb taking second in the 100m, Max Lydum taking the hammer throw, and Reed Brown winning the 1500m. For the women's side, Keera Stephen took the 100m hurdles, Maddie Rabing won the shot put, Madi Greenleaf won the 400m hurdles and Lilli Burdon won the 1500m.
