VB | No. 18 Oregon Gouges Gophers, Beating no. 1 Minnesota in 4 Sets

Members of no. 18 Oregon have insisted the team's 0-2 start to the season, in which the Ducks dropped matches to then-no. 2 Texas and no. 3 Nebraska, didn't represent how good the team can be. After taking on and taking down no. 1 Minnesota, the Ducks have some proof to point to. Oregon was masterful in close sets on Friday, Sept. 7, winning 25-23, 25-23, 27-25, and 25-23 to earn an early marquee win. UO saw career nights from senior August Raskie (career-high 66 assists), senior Lauren Page (career-high 16 kills), and freshman Brooke Nuneviller (career-high 28 digs), while junior Ronika Stone (19 kills on a .615 pct) highlighted a strong offensive showing. The match was tight in every single set, as can be seen in nearly every team statistic; Oregon outhit Minnesota, but only .298 to .295. After the monstrous victory, Oregon (5-2) gets no breaks, as they face no. 5 Penn State on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 2 PM. STORY: Keith Simms Provides Depth and Versatility in Return to Football

After missing what would have been his sophomore season due to injury, Oregon linebacker Keith Simms returned to the gridiron in week one for the Ducks in a career day against Bowling Green. Matching his previous career-high with five total stops, including two on special teams, Simms stood out in the middle of the defense. With usual start La'Mar Winston Jr. still uncertain for Oregon's week two meeting with Portland State, the redshirt sophomore is poised to make another big impact. Listen below to the full story. STORY: Jaylon Redd's Growth Provides Spark to Young Receiver Group

The first quarter of Oregon Football's 58-24 win over Bowling Green was marked by mistakes - namely drops by the wide receivers - that saw the Ducks trailing 10-0. Sophomore receiver Jaylon Redd was responsible for a big drop of his own, but his response showed why Redd may be the receiving threat the Ducks have been looking for.

AUDIO: Oregon Football Finding Depth on Defense

Coming into 2018 with higher expectations then a season ago, the Oregon defense showed flashes of its potential in its week one victory over Bowling Green. Though the Falcons found early success and took advantage of some missed assignments in the second half, Oregon's lead in the game allowed for several rotations throughout the field that gave a number of defenders valuable playing time. With some injuries already plaguing the team, the Ducks' depth is invaluable moving forward and should remain on full display with favorable matchups until PAC-12 play begins. Listen below to the full interviews following Wednesday's practice. Head Coach Mario Cristobal  Continue with AUDIO: Oregon Football Finding Depth on Defense.
