The Ducks came out hot against the Utes in their final home series of the regular season. Gwen Svekis hit a two-run homer in the first to break the tie. Thereafter, the Ducks tacked on three runs in the third, one in the fourth, and 2 in the sixth to win 8-0 via the run-rule. Katie Donovan threw all six innings for the Utes, earning six of the eight runs, walking four and striking out two. Her Oregon-counterpart, Megan Kleist, also went all six, allowing just two hits and totaling just one walk to go with five strikeouts. Haley Cruse led the way on offense for Oregon, going 2-3 with a single and her first home run of the season. The win puts Oregon in a tie with UCLA for the top spot in the Pac-12. The momentum though wasn't enough as OSU defeated UO 4-3 in a game dominated by the Beaver pitching staff. Kevin Abel leading that group, pitching over six innings, allowing zero runs, and only one hit. The Ducks put together a mere two hits on the night, one coming from DH Kenyon Yovan who hit a three run home run in the first inning, the only three runs the Ducks scored all night. With the help of some poor Oregon pitching that walked OSU batters around the bases, the Beavers put together six hits including a Trevor Larnach solo home run in the second.
