VB | No. 18 Oregon Gouges Gophers, Beating no. 1 Minnesota in 4 Sets

Members of no. 18 Oregon have insisted the team's 0-2 start to the season, in which the Ducks dropped matches to then-no. 2 Texas and no. 3 Nebraska, didn't represent how good the team can be. After taking on and taking down no. 1 Minnesota, the Ducks have some proof to point to. Oregon was masterful in close sets on Friday, Sept. 7, winning 25-23, 25-23, 27-25, and 25-23 to earn an early marquee win. UO saw career nights from senior August Raskie (career-high 66 assists), senior Lauren Page (career-high 16 kills), and freshman Brooke Nuneviller (career-high 28 digs), while junior Ronika Stone (19 kills on a .615 pct) highlighted a strong offensive showing. The match was tight in every single set, as can be seen in nearly every team statistic; Oregon outhit Minnesota, but only .298 to .295. After the monstrous victory, Oregon (5-2) gets no breaks, as they face no. 5 Penn State on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 2 PM.
