WBB | Oregon Dismantle Mountain Schools to Open PAC-12 Play

The Ducks topple Utah 88-51 on family day at Matthew Knight Arena. Coming off a dominant 104-46 win against Colorado Friday night the Ducks carry over the momentum into Sundays contest versus Utah. The Ducks had the upper-hand early, going up double digits less than four minutes into the game in big part to a pair of Erin Boley three-pointers.

After the first quarter trouncing, Utah never came close with the Ducks winning every quarter including a third-quarter which saw Oregon put up 24 points while holding Utah to just nine. While Oregon didn’t quite put up the staggering 104 points as they did against Colorado, stingy defense for the Ducks prevailed yet again. No one Duck stole the show in big part to Kelly Graves going 10 deep. Sabrina Ionescu put up 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists while Minyon Moore chipped in with 17 points of her own.

#6 Oregon (12-2, 8-1) defeated #8 Wisconsin (10-4, 7-2) in the 106th Rose Bowl game on January 1st, 2019 in front of a near-capacity crowd of 90,462 fans. In a sea of red and green, Oregon's Quarterback Justin Herbert stole the show, racing for a career-high three rushing touchdowns, and cementing his four-year resume as Oregon's starting quarterback with a Rose Bowl. Just Oregon's fourth Rose Bowl victory in its history, the game in Pasadena carried added significance. A 4-8 record just four years ago, and with their third head coach in that span, Mario Cristobal and the Ducks were able to turn-around a program at an incredible pace.

Aided by four Wisconsin turnovers, the opportune Ducks converted 21 points off of Badger errors, despite being outgained by Wisconsin 322 to 204. In the last official non-conference game before Pac-12 play, Oregon used an electric third quarter to dominate Kansas State, 89-51. It wasn't all pretty for the Ducks in the second half, as a back-and-forth 1st quarter ended 14-10. In that quarter, Oregon committed 5 turnovers. In the second quarter, Junior forward Erin Boley sparked Oregon's offense with efficient 3 point shooting. It wasn't only electric offense for the Ducks, but Oregon went on a 16-2 run throughout the second quarter by not allowing a Kansas State field goal for over 4 minutes. Erin Boley finished the first half with 16 points, and Oregon led 38-27. In the second half, Oregon started to break the game wide open.
