STORY: Oregon Volleyball completes weekend sweep of the Arizona Wildcats
by Kent Williams
On a Valentine's Sunday, the Oregon Ducks(5-2, t-3rd in Pac-12) certainly felt the love, completing a dominating sweep of the visiting Arizona Wildcats(2-5, 8th in Pac-12), 25-23, 25-13, 25-15. With a fantastic effort by the Ducks both on offense and defense, especially in the second set, Oregon was able to cruise to its fifth straight win before heading to Utah to face the top dog in the Pac-12. Brooke Nuneviller had yet another standout performance, leading the team in kills with 11, as well as digs with 12, giving her the 6th double-double of the season. But it wasn't just Nuneviller doing work for Oregon; Morgan Lewis and Gloria Mutiri both contributed 9 kills on the match, Abby Hansen had 8 blocks, quadrupling the Wildcats total as a team. Overall the team seemed very fluid and energectic throughout the game, and that showed in the second set, when the Ducks had a huge 8-0 run to really break open the floodgates.
Next up for the Ducks is…

The first half of the game was a back and forth battle. Arizona got out to a fast start going up 8-0 before Kelly Graves called timeout to slow down the run. Oregon was able to get on the board after the timeout which made the score 12-7 in favor of the Wildcats with just over 5 minutes to play in the 1st quarter. The Ducks ended the first quarter on a 8-0 run capped off by a layup at the buzzer by Lydia Giomi making the score 21-19 Arizona.
