Oregon Soccer Held to 1-1 Draw with Arizona State after Double-OT Thriller
By: Xaiver Aguiar
The Ducks danced with the Devils on a chilly Friday night from Eugene, Oregon. After 110 minutes of action, the game ended in a 1-1 draw, with both teams wishing they had gotten a better result. The game took a while to get going, but when it did, it didn't disappoint.
Oregon dominated the first-half possession as Arizona State sat back and forced the Ducks to the side of the field. The Sun Devils gameplan was clear: wait for Oregon to make a mistake and create a strong counterattack. The issue for ASU was they couldn't generate any semblance of build-up play on the counter. It looked like that wouldn't matter, though, as off a set piece Duck goalie Leah Freeman came off her line to snag the ball but collided with an ASU attacker. While on the ground, Freeman put her hands up and made a miraculous save, which will feature on highlight reels for the rest of her Oregon career.
Right before the half, Oregon started…

Oregon defeated Oregon State 80-67 Sunday night at Gill Coliseum to be crowned PAC-12 regular-season champions. Oregon ended the season winning 10 of 11 and it was never in doubt tonight as Oregon had the lead for every second after Will Richardson’s opening bucket. Richardson was blistering hot through the first 20 minutes going 5-5 from three with 17 points, eventually hitting a new career-high with 22. With the Ducks shooting 57% from the field and 65% from three it was natural that five Ducks scored in double digits: Richardson-22, Omoruyi-18, Williams-14, Figueroa-10, Duarte-10. Oregon was full of energy tonight and in an empty Gill Coliseum, Oregon felt like the home team from the tip.
The second half almost felt like a formality, Oregon State would pull it within single digits several times but almost on cue, Oregon would drill a three to make it a double-digit affair. The 15 threes marked a season-high for the Ducks and their most since 2017. After being picked…

Home sweet home. The Oregon Ducks finally were able to play softball at Jane Sanders Stadium Saturday afternoon, and the on-the-field did not disappoint. The number 6 team in the nation was able to add two more games into the win column with 4-2 and 3-0 wins, respectively.
The first game against the Portland State Vikings was a slugfest. Vikings pitcher Allicitie Frost was making her collegiate debut but looked like a seasoned veteran on the mound. Haley Cruse scored off a hit by pitch in the 3rd, but Frost wouldn't allow the Ducks to get a mark in the hit collum. The first Oregon hit came in the bottom of the 5th when it was Cruse, of course, who notched an RBI double. The Ducks extended that lead in the bottom of the 6th after a 2RBI single from Hannah Delgado.
While the bats might have been dormant, the Duck pitching was blazing hot. Brooke Yanez was locked in and pitched a gem. She recorded 12 strikeouts and…

Friday afternoon, the #7 ranked Washington Huskies faced off against the #20 Oregon Ducks in the first matchup of their top 25 showdown this weekend in Eugene. The Ducks were looking to keep the momentum of their 7-match win streak, however, the Huskies came out swinging early and rode that effort to a three-game sweep.
Washington controlled the pace early with six blocks in the first set and ended the series with 12 total. For Oregon, Brooke Nuneviller played with effort to the tune of 12 kills, 11 digs, and a .311 hit percentage.
Head Coach Matt Ulmer talked about the Ducks inability to attack the Huskies blocks -“We work really hard - on how to attack a block, and I thought we were pretty undisciplined with that… when…
