STORY: Oregon Football Showcases New Talent in 2021 Spring Game
Oregon Football took the field at Autzen Stadium for the first time since November 21st on Saturday for the 2021 Spring Game. Oregon showcased plenty of new talent on the field, but none more significant than the four QBs in play to start next season. Anthony Brown (20-29, 230 yards, TD) led the way, but we saw flashes from Jay Butterfield (6-9, 118 yards, TD), Ty Thompson (5-9, 75 yards), and Robby Ashford (7-8, 123 yards, TD). Ashford scampered into the endzone for the two-point conversion to win the game for the offense, 36-35. Several young weapons caught some eyes on Saturday as well. Freshman WRs Troy Franklin (4 catches, 93 yards), Dont'e Thornton (3 catches, 89 yards, TD), and Kris Hutson (3 catches, 49 yards, TD) all showed that there's an extremely bright future at the WR position for the Ducks.
Meanwhile, the Spring Game allowed fans to get a first look at the defense under first-year Defensive Coordinator Tim Deruyter. Oregon had 9 sacks, had 12 tackles for…

In what was San Jose State’s first ever trip to Eugene, the Spartans will return to California after a deflating 13-1 loss to the Oregon Ducks Wednesday afternoon. Despite a competitive outing on Tuesday, Oregon dominated the Spartans in their second match-up of the week.
Things began slow, but soon enough the Ducks came swinging. The bases were loaded in the second inning when Gavin Grant hit a double out to right field, bringing home Gabe Matthews and Sam Novitske. Anthony Hall joined the party, hitting a line drive out to right center field, earning himself a pair of RBIs and giving the Ducks a 4-0 lead after two innings.
After a couple of lifeless innings, Oregon put its foot to the gas pedal, scoring five more runs in the fifth inning. Freshman Jack Scanlon ignited his ball-club, earning his 6th RBI of the season on a sacrifice fly to bring to bring Josh Kasevich home. The hits kept coming for Oregon, as they took…

Although the sunset was just about perfect leaving PK Park Tuesday, the performance by the Ducks was not as Oregon came out victorious 11-7 against San Jose State in a game they did not play their best. Although the Ducks trailed early, Oregon was able to battle back and pick up their 5th win over the Spartans since 1964 despite playing 12 times.
Action began in the top of the second inning. San Jose State jumped out to a 1-0 lead after Reece Hernandez came out triumphant in a 9 pitch at bat, hitting an RBI groundout to score Ruben Mercado from 3rd.
The next inning the Spartan's bats were still awake as they scored 2 runs off of back to back RBI singles by Ruben Ibarra and Connor Konishi to extend their lead to 3-0 after 2 and 1/2 innings played.
The Spartans lead was short lived as the Ducks scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning to take the lead 5-3. The inning was highlighted by a 2RBI triple…
