Oregon Baseball Loses at home to Portland Pilots 6-4

By: Jonah Rosenberg

It was not the type of performance that Oregon Baseball Head coach Mark Wasikowski wanted when the Portland Pilots(13-13) came into town on Tuesday afternoon as the Pilots took care of business against the hometown Ducks. Isaac Ayon got the start for the ducks but only lasted 2 ⅓ innings after giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, which was enough to credit the freshman Pitcher with his first loss of the season. Oregon struggled stopping the power hitters of the Pilots allowing Sam Brown and Chad Stevens a combined 7 hits on 10 at bats and a combined 5 RBIs.

Errors were also an issue for the Ducks today. The usually reliable 3b Kenyon Yovan could not handle a ground ball, and catcher Jack Scanlon allowed a pitch past him which gave up a run. In addition to these errors, the Ducks also committed a baserunning error when Josh Kasevich did not touch second base when returning to first after a deep Jack Scanlon flyout. Mental mistakes cost the…

STORY: Soccer - Ducks perform well against Colorado, but Buffaloes outlast Ducks to win 1-0

The saying “Close, but no cigar!” fits the Oregon Ducks effort against the University of Colorado this Sunday as the Buffaloes took the victory 1-0. Both teams came into the game today after what they would call disappointing results from Friday’s games. Colorado lost to Oregon State 0-2 and were looking to avenge that effort, while Oregon drew with Pac-12 foe Utah 1-1.

The game started out with great pace, with both teams aggressively pushing the pace early in the first half. But about midway through the first half, the Ducks took control of possession and the momentum. However, the chances yielded zero goals. “Performance wise, we feel good about the actual performance thought we played well in terms of move the ball, maybe our best first half of soccer all year. Fair play to Colorado, their coaching staff got it right, in terms of the way they defended and set up,” stated Coach Graeme after the game.

Oregon Baseball Dominates New Mexico State for Series Opening Win

By Knight Jarecki

It was a beautiful day for baseball Thursday night in Eugene Oregon as the #19 Oregon Ducks defeated the New Mexico State Aggies 5-0. The win on Thursday gives the Ducks their 13th win of the season.

The first 2 and a half innings were filled with many walks but no hits and runs. This trend changed in the bottom of the 3rd inning when Tanner Smith came up to the plate with a runner on first. Smith hit a double into left center field for the first hit of the game and gave the Ducks runners on 2nd and 3rd. Later in the inning Kenyon Yovan roped a ball down the left field line driving in both runners putting the Ducks up 2-0. Gabe Matthews drove in Yovan on a sac fly at the end of the inning giving the Ducks a 3-0 lead after 3 frames.

In the bottom half of the next inning, the Ducks offense went back to work as Tanner Smith hit his second double of the game driving in Josh Kasevich to extend the lead to 4-0 after 4…
