STORY: Oregon Baseball takes care of San Francisco 5-3

Written Story by Griffin Bowes

After losing last week’s series to rival Oregon State, the Ducks needed to regain some confidence in this 2-game non-conference series against San Francisco. In the first game, the Ducks claimed a 5-3 win to improve to 21-9 on the season. Oregon controlled much of the game, especially on the mound, where pitcher Jackson Pace gave up only 3 hits in 5 innings. The Ducks didn’t allow a single base runner in the 1st inning, and Pace struck out the Dons’ first batter with his first 3 pitches. San Francisco’s first base runner came on a walk in the 2nd inning, and they went the first three innings without a hit. They got their first hit in the 4th but couldn’t do anything with it, despite having a runner on first and second base.

However, it took the Ducks a bit to get going on offense. Oregon had some batting success to start, but they couldn’t capitalize. The Ducks had a chance to score their first run in the 2nd inning, but…

BSB Preview: Ducks look to bounce back with a midweek series against San Francisco

By John Evans

EUGENE, OR - This Tuesday and Wednesday, Oregon Baseball will host the San Francisco Dons for a two-game midweek series at PK Park. After going into last weekend’s series against Oregon State riding a 10-game winning streak, the Ducks would win the first game of the series before suffering disappointing losses in games two and three at the hands of the Beavers. Oregon currently sits at a 20-9 overall record on the season, including a 7-5 record in Pac-12 play. San Francisco comes into the series with a 13-13 record on the season, having most recently lost two out of three at BYU.

Oregon

After a 2-0 win in game one against Oregon State, the Ducks were looking to extend their 11-game winning streak through the rest of the series. Unfortunately, the Beavers’ bats would wake up over the next two games, as they defeated the Ducks 4-2 and 12-2. Over the course of the winning streak that helped propel Oregon back…

STORY: Oregon Baseball Drops Rubber Match to Rival Beavers

Written Story by Austin Ota

EUGENE, OR – Just about sixteen hours after the Oregon Ducks (No. 25, 20-9)  saw their modern program-long winning streak come to an end, one of the streakiest teams in the nation tried to start a new one against their rival Oregon State Beavers (NR, 20-11). It’s been the story of Oregon’s season thus far – the Ducks sandwiched a four game losing streak between five and eleven game streaks and exit Rivalry Weekend dropping their last two. A bullpen day was able to stifle Oregon’s hefty offense and quiet the Ducks, 12-2.

Oregon’s designated Sunday starter, Leo Uelmen, has been notably shaky at the back end of the rotation and struggled again against the Beavers. The walks have killed Uelmen all year. Uelmen only lasted an inning and walked a trio of Beavers while a 468-foot grand slam by catcher Wilson Weber was more than enough for Mark Wasikowski to end his starters’ day prematurely. In all fairness, Oregon…

BSB STORY: Oregon Baseball loses the Saturday match against Oregon State 4-2

By Levi Profitt

The Oregon Ducks dropped the second of their weekend game series against the Oregon State Beavers on Saturday by a score of 4-2. In a game where a few bats made the difference, Ducks starting pitcher Logan Mercado had a respectable outing after a rough last time out in his five innings pitched.

The day started out scoreless for the first two innings for both teams as pitching came out hot. The Ducks got on the board first with Rikuu Nishida knocking an RBI single through to score Dominic Hellman in the bottom of the 3rd inning. The Ducks would score again in the inning on a 2-out RBI double by shortstop Drew Cowley, bringing home Nishida and making it 2-0 Oregon after the 3rd inning. The Beavers would respond as Brady Kasper smacked a solo home run in the top of the 4th, trimming Oregon's lead to one. That score would remain for two whole innings until designated hitter Micah McDowell made the biggest play of the night, launching a 3-…

Ducks’ Baseball take game one in rivalry series against Oregon State

Written story by Saul Galvan

It was nothing short of an intense Friday night game in PK Park. Oregon was back in Eugene, riding a ten game win streak, looking to keep it going against in-state rivals Oregon State. The Ducks won the game 2-0.

Unlike the past ten games during the winning streak, the offense was not really present in friday's win, but the pitching found their stride. Jace Stoffal got the start, and had nothing short of an incredible outing. He finished the game with a final stat line of seven innings pitched, one hit, no earned runs, and nine strikeouts. Stoffal had a no-hitter going into the seventh but gave up a single before getting into a bases-loaded jam. He would escape the inning off of back to back strikeouts. Matt Dallas came in the eighth inning, but would only face three batters before Josh Mollerus closed out the game, getting the four out save.

As for the offense, the Ducks lone two runs came in the fifth…
