In a dramatic defensive battle, the Oregon Ducks soccer team lost 1-0 to the Washington Huskies in Papé Field. The Ducks went into this game in the midst of a tough season, with a record of 0-14-2 and a streak of 8 losses. The team had lost its previous game at Stanford to the Cardinal 2-0 but looked to bounce back against a major rival. The Huskies went into the game with a 7-5-2 record after tying at home to the Colorado Buffaloes 1-1.
The Huskies started out aggressively in the game, controlling the ball for most of the first half and getting many shots on the Oregon goal. The Ducks adjusted defensively and kept their net clean, but couldn't get much…

SOCCER PREVIEW: Ducks to Face Huskies at the End of a Difficult Season
Written by Mario Ponce
The winless Oregon Ducks will take on the Washington Huskies on Thursday night at Papé Field, after their tough 2-0 loss to the fifth ranked Stanford Cardinal. In that game, Cardinal midfielder Jasmine Aikey had a good performance, scoring the game's opening goal in the 8th minute and assisting Kennedy Wesley, who scored the second goal in the 76th minute. A positive for the Ducks is that sophomore goalie Maddy Goldberg made history, tying the program's save record with 15 in the game.
Oregon:
The Ducks have a record of 0-14-2, with both ties in non-conference away games. This gives them zero conference standing points. The team has a streak of eight consecutive losses. The key for this next game is to improve on the defensive front, as they have conceded 43 goals this season while only scoring seven. This gives them a goal difference of -36, highlighted by an 8-1 loss to California last week. If they can do this…

15. SAN ANTONIO SPURS
Offseason Acquisitions: Victor Wembanyama, Cedi Osman, Reggie Bullock
X-Factor: Devin Vassell; Head Coach: Greg Popovich
The San Antonio Spurs may as well relocate to Las Vegas with how lucky they were in the draft lottery, landing Victor Wembanyama with the 1st pick; the most coveted prospect to come through the draft since Lebron James in 2003. The Spurs are landing a generational player with a hall-of-fame ceiling, championship aspirations, and the hopes of becoming the face of the Spurs franchise. However, don’t expect Wemby’s impact on the floor to translate to wins just yet. The Spurs have a long way to go before they contend for a championship, let alone a playoff spot. They…
