SB Preview: Oregon looks to make a statement against UCLA after tough, close series losses in each of its last two weeks
By Dylan Farrell
Over the last two weekends, Oregon softball shows that it belongs near the top of a stacked Pac-12 conference. This weekend, starting tonight, March 24, the No. 18 Ducks (19-8, 2-4) will try to prove that they are more than the Pac-12 standings say they are as they host the No. 4 UCLA Bruins (27-3, 4-2) for a three-game series. That’s a tall order — the Bruins have a glut of talent on offense and defense, including stars Maya Brady, who boasts a .467 average and a 1.476 OPS on the season, and Megan Faraimo, who has a 1.36 ERA and a monstrous 0.66 WHIP alongside a 13-1 record. UCLA’s lineup also has two faces that are familiar to Ducks fans: those of Brooke Yanez and Rachel Cid, who transferred to UCLA in the offseason. This series marks their first return to the Jane since departing and the last leg of the toughest stretch of Oregon’s schedule this year.

After a three game series in Pullman last weekend, the Oregon baseball team returns to PK Park for a four game series with Northwestern State (13-7). The Ducks were able to take two of the three games against Washington State, including a comeback victory in the rubber match on Sunday. This will be the second and last opponent the Ducks play from outside the West Coast region
Oregon: The series against Pullman gave life to this young Oregon team. After losing two out of three against UCLA, then dropping a midweek contest with Niagara and the series open at Washington State, hope started to dwindle for the Ducks. It is still early in the season, but looking at the upcoming schedule, Oregon needs to be consistent if they wish to make it to the top of the Pac 12 standings. Sunday’s comeback victory started and should spark the fire for this team to make a run that will…

STORY: Oregon Men's Basketball sees their season end in the NIT, losing at home to Wisconsin, 61-58
By Levi Profitt
The Oregon Ducks lost the last game of their NIT postseason run in Matthew Knight Arena to the Wisconsin Badgers by a score of 61-58. Oregon kept it neck-and-neck with the Badgers in the first half, with Wisconsin holding an early lead of 27-26 after the first frame. Oregon shot just 10% from downtown in that first half, and 1-5 from the free throw line, using tough inside defense and solid closeouts to keep it as close as it was. From their defensive effort, they were able to keep Wisconsin to just 10-29 on field goals in the first half, frustrating the Badgers.
The second half would be a different story, as both teams started trading buckets at a higher…

Oregon Softball Closes Stanford Series with Another Nail-Biting Loss
By Dylan Farrell
Tough, close losses continued to be the theme of Pac-12 play for the Ducks on Sunday afternoon, as the flock dropped the third game of its home-opening series to the Stanford Cardinal to the tune of a 3-2 loss following a series full of 1- and 2-run games. Despite the losses, No. 19 Oregon (19-8, 2-4) has been anything but disappointing in conference play thus far. Five of its six games in the Pac-12 have been decided by two or fewer runs against very strong opponents, namely then-No. 10 Washington last weekend and No. 7 Stanford this weekend.
Defenses shined bright throughout the matchup, and the showdown on the mounds between Stevie Hansen and Alana Vawter continued to live up to its billing. Stanford’s Vawter pitched a complete 7 innings and allowed two runs, though it certainly could’ve been more if not for stellar play from second base River Mahler. With a runner on third and just one out in the frame, Vallery Wong sent a blistering line…

Read MoreThe Ducks Take Game Two Against Stanford in a Back and Forth Defensive Battle
Audio and Written Story by Wilder Lewis
The Ducks needed a win today against #7 Stanford is they wanted to still have a chance to win the series as yesterday they dropped game one against the Cardinal 1-3 in a extra inning thriller. Today's game had more of the same in the since that it was a back and forth defensive battle between the two teams. However Oregon in the end was able to make it out on top and take the game 2-1, here is how it happened.
Stanford got things going early off the rip as the first batter of the game
Gindlesperger got a single. Later on in the inning Kaneshiro had a single as well allowing Gindlesperger to advance to 3rd. She then went on to eventually score from 3rd on an error from Allee Bunker. The Ducks would be able to get out of the inning only allowing the one unearned run which would be Stanford's only run of the day. However the lead wouldn't last for long as in the bottom of the 1st the Ducks would get one right back…
