#18 Oregon looks to bounce back in PAC-12 tournament after shocking sweep at the Jane
By: Ian Sutliff
Eugene, OR-- Oregon will take on the Stanford Cardinal on Thursday in the first round of the conference tournament which will help decide whether or not the Ducks have a chance at hosting a regional. It looked promising up until the last weekend of conference play when Oregon was swept by Utah after going into the series with a 13-game win streak. The Ducks dropped all the way to the five-seed in the PAC-12 and instead of facing Cal in the first round, they’ll now play the sixth ranked team in the nation in Stanford. The first series was full of nail biters that gave us one of the best series of college softball this entire season. It’s possible that we’ll see another classic in Tucson when the two square off in a winner take all matchup to kick off the tournament.

One of the premier offenses in the country, the Ducks ranked 30th in the nation in team batting average and will have to face some of…

The No. 13 Oregon Ducks fell to the No. 24 Utah Utes for the third consecutive game on Sunday, bringing Oregon’s regular season to an end with a stinging sweep that made its path to a Pac-12 Tournament win and hosting an NCAA regional significantly more difficult. Utah pitcher Mariah Lopez delivered Oregon its first no-hit game all year alongside its first-ever shutout at Jane Sanders Stadium.
Sunday’s game was arguably the most important of the year for the Ducks, as Oregon was fighting for a potential 3-seed in the upcoming Pac-12 Tournament. If both Oregon and Washington won – an outcome that looked more than possible, as Washington already led Stanford 3-0 by the time the first pitch was thrown at the Jane – Washington would secure second in the conference. Oregon, then having one more win in conference play than both Stanford and Utah, would secure third. More importantly, the 3 seed would set the Ducks up to play Cal – a much easier…

EUGENE, OR — Friday evening, Oregon Softball entered their final regular-season series with Utah looking to extend their 13-game win streak. But following a 3-1 loss, they'll have to begin a new streak. After scoring over 8 runs per game and allowing fewer than 2 per game since their last loss on April 2, no one got it going against Utah ace Mariah Lopez, who fanned seven batters en route to a complete game.
The most important of the Ducks' four hits was a no-doubt solo blast over the right field scoreboard by Ariel Carlson in the second inning to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead. It was an impressive display of opposite field power, and at the time, it looked like the start of another offensive onslaught.
The score didn't budge in the third or fourth inning, though, as Oregon starter Morgan Scott kept the Utes off the board but the offense failed to support her. The fifth inning saw the game turn upside down. After Sophie Jacquez led…
