NBA POWER RANKINGS – November 13th
Written by Tal Cohen, Yaniv Horenstein, and Leo Schulhof
1. Denver Nuggets (8-2, LW: West No. 2)
This should come as no surprise, but the reigning champions sit atop the power rankings heading into Week 3 of the NBA season. Nikola Jokic has been superb in his seven-game stretch, averaging a whopping 29 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. Jamal Murray is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury until December, and while this is a significant loss for Denver’s offense, his absence has not yet been a deterrent to this basketball club’s ability to run up the numbers in the win-column.
2. Philadelphia 76ers (8-1, LW: East No. 3)
The Sixers have proved themselves as one of the deepest teams in the league, especially following the James Harden Trade. Nick Nurse has done a tremendous job balancing all the players on this loaded squad while making sure they play team basketball. Kelly Oubre has started his…

Read MoreTez Johnson, Oregon Receivers Show Out Against USC
Story by Isaac Dubey
The Ducks offense caught lightning in a bottle early in the game against USC. On their second play of offense, Tez Johnson found the endzone on a 77-yard receiving touchdown. Johnson was able to spin out of a tackle and burst up the field to find the endzone. On the ensuing Oregon drive, Troy Franklin joined the party and scored his own 84-yard receiving touchdown on the Ducks' third play of offense. This was Franklin's longest receiving touchdown of his career.
The connection between Nix and Johnson has been noteworthy as of recent. When the Heisman contender has needed a big play, he's often looked Johnson's way. On a broken-down play halfway through the third quarter, Nix scrambled to his right and found Johnson wide open in the endzone for his second receiving touchdown of the night.
Johnson has caught fire the last two games with over 300 yards receiving in that span. He finished this game with seven catches…
Read MoreFB: Nix shows off Heisman status in key win over USC
Story by Saul Galvan
In a game that many knew was going to be big for both quarterbacks, Bo Nix came out victorious in the battle with USC and reigning Heisman, Caleb Williams. Nix continued his campaign for the prestigious award, throwing for over 400 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win. His competition percentage for the game sat just below 75%, as Nix led the offense in an efficient first half. The Ducks managed to score on six of their ten total drives, including four in the first half.
Explosive big plays were vital to Nix’s huge stat line. Oregon managed to score two touchdowns on just five plays in back-to-back drives. Nix connected with his brother, Tez Johnson for a 77-yard touchdown on just the second play of Oregon’s first drive. On the next drive for the Ducks, Nix found a wide-open Troy Franklin for an 84-yard touchdown. Nix’s ability to execute plays and kill time off the clock, combined with huge plays from the defense made it impossible…

Written Story
by: Yaniv Horenstein
Oregon men’s basketball took on the Montana Grizzlies in their home opener in
Matthew Knight Arena on Friday night. The Ducks were without their star center,
N’Faly Dante, who sat out with a sore hamstring that he suffered against Georgia in the
season opener. Don’t worry too much though, as Dante was doing drills with his
teammates in shoot-around. True freshman Kwame Evans Jr got his first start for Dana
Altman, in Dante’s place. The Ducks were also missing starter, Jesse Zarzuela, the guard transfer from Central Michigan. Replacing him in the opening lineup was Brennan
Rigsby, who had an excellent season opener in which he scored a team-high 16 points.
The Ducks started slow against the Grizzlies, getting behind 9-2 before eventually going on a 8-0 run, and getting themselves back into the game. Altman tested out different lineups with early substitutions, bringing in Kario Oquendo, Mahamadou…
Bushnell Men's Basketball Preview | Beacons Clash with DIII Linfield in Home Opener
By Ryan Oppenheimer
EUGENE, Ore. — After tipping off the season with two losses in Klamath Falls at the Cascade/Crossroads Classic, the Bushnell men's basketball team returns home to the Morse Center where they will host the Division III Linfield Wildcats Friday night at 7:30 p.m. PT.
Despite the 0-2 start, there is still plenty of excitement surrounding the latest version of the Beacons under sixth-year head coach Eddie Alexander. This team pushes it up and down the court in a hurry and is made up of several former Oregon high school standout scorers. Returning 14 players, they have largely the same personnel as last season — which saw them finish 12-17 and eke out the No. 8 seed in the playoffs — but they hope to benefit from an added year of experience. Five of these returners are seniors, including the school's all-time leading scorer, guard Stevie Schlabach. He forms a one-two punch with center Spencer Hoffman, with the two combining for 31.4 points per…
