PAC-12 Championship Preview: Oregon Set For Rematch Against Washington in Vegas

By Jonah Bruneau

Eugene, ORE – The commonly deemed “game of the year” to this point will get its part two Friday night in the city that never sleeps. The No. 5 Oregon Ducks (11-1) return to Las Vegas to compete for a PAC-12 title for the first time since 2021, when Utah ran them out of Allegiant Stadium. For No. 3 Washington (12-0), they make their first appearance in the conference championship game since 2018 when they hoisted the trophy at the end of the night after taking down Utah. Never before have the Ducks met the Huskies in the conference title game.

Chaos is almost destined to take place over the entire weekend, starting with Washington versus Oregon. The overall consensus seems to be “win and you’re in” for either team in regard to the College Football Playoff. However, the other four Power 5 title games can reshape much of what the final Playoff picture will look like.

The true X-factor this weekend is looking to be No. 8 Alabama.…

WVB | The Ducks Fly Past the Lions Today as Oregon Sweep SE Louisiana

Written Story by Griffin Bowes

The 2nd-seeded Oregon Ducks had high hopes entering the NCAA tournament. The Ducks finished the regular season ranked sixth in the nation and second in the Pac-12, trailing only top-seeded Stanford. Meanwhile, the Southeastern Louisiana Lions also came in hot, as they entered this match with a winning streak of 22. Despite this impressive feat, the Ducks were expected to win this match rather comfortably. To the delight of the Oregon faithful, expectations were met as the Ducks won in three sets.

The Lions put forth a strong effort to open the match, as the first set was very competitive for much of its duration. Early on, the Ducks had a 4-0 scoring run, but the Lions answered with two separate 4-0 runs. However, Oregon showed great poise as they pulled away late and closed out the set with a 5-0 run, winning 25-16.

The second and third sets were less competitive, as Oregon won both 25-13. In the second, the…

VB PREVIEW: Oregon Hosts Postseason Regional, Will Play Southeastern Louisiana First

By Ryan Oppenheimer

EUGENE, Ore. — After closing out a 26-5 regular season with a sweep of Oregon State in Corvallis, Oregon women's volleyball will take its home floor at least once more as it gets set for a first-round NCAA Tournament matchup against the Southeastern Louisiana Lady Lions Thursday at 7 p.m.

The Ducks were named a No. 2 seed on last Sunday's tournament bracket selection show and earned the luxury of hosting a regional for the second consecutive year. They have the second-highest seed of any Pac-12 team; only the No. 1 seed Stanford Cardinal are higher. Oregon enters the tourney on a five-match winning streak, with its most recent loss coming at the hands of the Cardinal on November 9.

It seems like everyone on the Ducks' unit is hitting their stride at the right time. They are playing complete volleyball, ranking top-16 nationally in kills per set, assists per set, blocks per set and hitting percentage. Mimi Colyer's second season was…

Oregon Duck Alumni to watch this season in the NBA

By Yaniv Horenstein

Bol Bol

Phoenix Suns | Forward | Played for the Ducks: 2018 - 2019

The highest-rated recruit in Oregon basketball history is still trying to find his way in the league. Bol Bol is coming off his best season, in which he averaged nine points and six rebounds in 70 games for the Orlando Magic. He signed with the Suns this offseason but has only played seven total minutes this season. The 7-foot-3-inch, 24-year-old has a quick handle for a man of his stature and can shoot from distance. Although he’s not getting many chances to showcase his ability, his youth and potential upside could excite many fans.

Eugene Omoruyi

Washington Wizards | F | Played for the Ducks: 2020 - 2021

This offseason, Eugene Omoruyi signed a one-year deal with the Wizards. Despite receiving seven minutes of play in the eight games he’s appeared in, the All-Pac-12 forward is averaging five…
