Led by FAU star pitcher Kyle Marman, the Owls defeated the Ducks 5-0 in Eugene Saturday afternoon. Despite Oregon's nine hits, they weren't able to convert them into runs, leading to being shutout for the first time this young season. FAU capitalized on Oregon's struggle at the mound including a double from Andru Summerall that drove in two Owl runs in the top of the fourth inning. Oregon relievers Hunter Breault and Nico Tellache stepped up for the Ducks as they pitched five innings, only giving up one run that came off a Tyler Frank homer in top of the eighth. The Ducks opened the day with a 6-1 win against the Bulls behind a stellar pitching performance from junior Megan Kleist. Kleist kept South Florida off the scoreboard for the first six innings on just one hit before the Bulls pushed a run across in the seventh inning. Kleist finished the game herself, throwing seven innings, allowing just one run on two hits, while striking out 10 and walking one en route to her fifth win of the season.
