The No.2 seeded Oregon Ducks will host the No. 10 seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. It has been over a year-and-a-half since the UCLA Bruins have visited Jane Sanders Stadium. Their the last visit saw a three-game super regional end in the Bruins' favor when they outlasted the Ducks, taking two of the three games to advance to the Women's College World Series. Now, the Bruins pick up where they left off, opening Pac-12 play with a dominant win over the Ducks, 6-1. Bruins starting pitcher, sophomore Rachel Garcia, tossed all seven innings, totaling 16 strikeouts, allowing five hits, two runs and walking three. The Bruins also homered three times, which is one fewer than the amount the Oregon pitching staff has given up all season long. Senior Kylee Perez led the Bruins offensively, accumulating three hits, two runs, and one RBI. Megan Kleist started for the Ducks. She was pulled with one out in the 5th innings after allowing three runs and striking out two batters. The Oregon Women's Basketball team didn't need it, but Sabrina Ionescu's tenth career triple-double stole the show as the Ducks advanced past Seattle University on Friday. Ionescu ended with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists as the no.2 seeded Ducks looked as comfortable as ever in their 2018 NCAA Tournament opener, cruising to 88-45 win over no. 15 seed Seattle University in front of their home crowd at Matthew Knight Arena. Oregon showed no rust after their long layoff, storming out to a 10-0 lead after forcing four turnovers in the opening minutes. The Oregon defense locked down the Redhawks in the first half on their way to a 48-16 advantage at the break. Several other Ducks got in on the fun, with starters Cazorla, Bando and Hebard all reaching double-digit points.
