VB | Marvelous Match Sends Oregon to Elite Eight over Minnesota
Fifteen-seed Oregon Volleyball won the wildest match of their season on Friday, December 7, toppling the 2-seed Minnesota Golden Gophers in four viciously-fought sets to clinch a spot in the Elite Eight. The Ducks went down early, dropping set one 25-21, as Minnesota's Samantha Seliger-Swenson dished 20 assists to her teammates in the frame. Coming into the match, Oregon had been 4-8 when losing set one.
That was before pandemonium took over in Maturi Pavilion. Oregon won one of the tightest sets played in recent NCAA history, duking it attack-for-attack with the Gophers for a 41-39 set victory. Not only did Oregon had to dispel nine different potential set-points from Minnesota, but the Ducks officially lost the set for a moment before head coach Matt Ulmer's challenge overturned UM's set-point. Redshirt sophomore Brooke Van Sickle, Oregon's swiss-army knife, then delivered two of her four kills on the night in back-to-back fashion to clinch the set victory.

AUDIO: Oregon Volleyball Hoping for Extended Minnesota Trip
Fifteen-seeded Oregon Volleyball (22-10) used nine sets last weekend to dispel New Mexico State (3-1) and Baylor (3-2) in the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament in Eugene. Now, the Ducks must head to Minnesota to challenge an excellent Golden Gophers squad. No. 2 Minnesota (27-3) won every set of their first two matches over Bryant and South Carolina by four or more points, and all but two of the team's set victories on the weekend were by double digits. However, UO's success against the Gophers earlier this year gives the team hope that this is a match-up built for them. With the Sweet 16 duel coming up Friday, December 7 at 1:30 PM PST, and the Final Four and NCAA Championship also taking place in Minneapolis the following weekend, head coach Matt Ulmer is hoping his team has an extended stay in the Twin Cities area. Listen into thoughts on the weekend from Coach Ulmer, setter August Raskie, and right-side Willow Johnson from Monday morning.

AUDIO: Mario Cristobal Reacts to Oregon Football's Red Box Bowl Bid
Oregon Football finished the regular season with wins over Arizona State and Oregon State to recover from a 1-3 midseason stretch and finish 8-4. News emerged Sunday that the Ducks' regular-season exploits earned them a spot in the Red Box Bowl, held at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California at noon New Year's Eve. The bid pairs Oregon with Michigan State, who finished 7-5 and fourth in the Big Ten East. After the announcement, Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal spent time during his afternoon press conference reacting to the news and answering questions about his team's future.
