Oregon Football finished the regular season with wins over Arizona State and Oregon State to recover from a 1-3 midseason stretch and finish 8-4. News emerged Sunday that the Ducks' regular-season exploits earned them a spot in the Red Box Bowl, held at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California at noon New Year's Eve. The bid pairs Oregon with Michigan State, who finished 7-5 and fourth in the Big Ten East. Oregon has been plagued with slow starts all season and Thursday night at Matthew Knight Arena would be no different. New Mexico State (24-8) would jump out to a quick 9-4 lead over Oregon (21-10) in set one, forcing them to regroup. The Ducks led by as much as 13 in the second half on Monday, but without the interior defense of sophomore Kenny Wooten, who didn't return after injuring his knee in the first half, TSU's Trayvon Reed tallied a career-high 23 points.
