The Ducks started the game plunging down the field with CJ Verdell and Travis Dye, but that drive was abrupted by Justin Herbert's first INT of the season. Cal stormed down the field behind two big throws from QB Devon Modster, including a 22 yard Pass TD to RB Christopher Brown. Oregon's struggles continued in the first half, as Travis Dye fumbled the ball twice to squander major scoring opportunities. Dye saw extra time as Verdell went down with a right leg injury. Down 7-0 at halftime, the Ducks came out of the gates better in the second half, finding its first points of the day behind a 28 yard Camden Lewis FG. Later in the 3rd quarter, Justin Herbert connected with Jacob Breeland for a big play to put Oregon on the 2 yard line.
