Returning to Eugene after wilting in the second half against Auburn last week, No. 16 Oregon football (1-1) bounced back emphatically with a 77-6 blowout of Nevada (1-1) Saturday evening. The offense started slow and Nevada capitalized on an early muffed punt by the Ducks to take a 3-0 lead until Justin Herbert hit Jacob Breeland for a 66 yard touchdown up the seam. Oregon led the rest of the way. After the Wolfpack's field goal brought the game to 7-6, Herbert and the Ducks rattled off 70 straight points. The performance tied a program-high in points scored with 10 different players tallying scores in the win. Highlighted in the victory was new defensive coordinator Andy Avalos's aggressive and disguising defense that forced four turnovers along with the Ducks' tight ends, which accounted for four of the team's seven touchdowns through the air.
