Oregon Soccer Lose a Heart-Breaker in Corvallis

Oregon's Thursday night game against the Oregon State Beavers went the same as the past two matches, a 1-0 loss. Oregon made the hour trip up north to Paul Lorenz Field but didn't have a goal to show for it, making it five games in a row without a goal in the state of Oregon. It was senior night for OSU and senior Paula Leblic won it for the Beavers with a beauty of a free kick in the 87th minute from just outside the box. Oregon finishes the season with a record of 5-9-5 while OSU will have their fate decided by the selection committee after an impressive 11-6-2 season under first-year head coach Matt Kagan. The Duck players will have time off but for Manny Martins and Kat Mertz, the focus shifts to recruiting and making progress before the spring season.

MBB | Oregon Wins Their Season Opener, In What Was A Historic Night For Coach Altman

By Cole Rothman & Sam Greenville

It was a chilly November evening for the season opener at Matthew Knight Arena, the 15th ranked Oregon Ducks faced an experienced Fresno State Bulldogs team coming off their fourth straight season with 23 plus wins. That streak would not include the Ducks as men in white and green won by a score of 71-57, which could have been stretched further if not for a late push and some impressive shooting from behind the arc by the Bulldogs. Senior guard Payton Pritchard played his last home opener for the Oregon Ducks and performed exactly like the seasoned veteran Duck fans have come to expect. Pritchard showed great command of the offense, pushing the ball down the court, as well as showcasing a deadly mid-range jumper that found the bottom of the night more than half a dozen times. Pritchard would lead both teams in points scoring with 24, while adding 7 assists and 7 rebounds to his impressive night. With highly touted recruit N’Faly…
