Oregon Women's Soccer takes a scoreless draw against the Portland Pilots
EUGENE, Ore. - The Tracy Joyner era of Oregon Women’s Soccer (1-0-1) stays unbeaten in a scoreless draw against the Portland Pilots (0-0-1).
In the 12th minute, an offensive attack, spearheaded by sophomore midfielder Carly Cormack, gave the Ducks their first clear shot on the goal, but sixth-year senior Taylor Bryan missed just to the right of the goalpost. Just a minute later, forward Lauren Kenny also missed to the right.
Bryan, coming off a two-goal game against Weber State, took a shot on the bottom right corner in the 19th minute, but it was saved by Pilots goalkeeper Sophia Hills.
Portland’s first shot on goal came in the 24th minute, with Hailey Still taking a strike right into the hands of Oregon’s goalkeeper Caeley Goldstein.
A stoppage came in the 26th minute after a tie-up, which led to Bryan receiving medical attention on the pitch, but she quickly reentered the game after play resumed.
Both teams struggled to find momentum on the…

I-5 was packed, entry lines were long and the aura of race day filled Portland International Raceway early Sunday morning. With clear skies and a scorching hot sun heating up the grid, racing teams across the pit-lanes spent the majority of their time preparing tires, ensuring each set could last the distance.
After winning last year’s Portland Grand Prix, Penske’s Will Power took home his second consecutive victory at Portland International Raceway. Penske Racing was relieved after risking its first winless season since 1999 with two races to go.
“Strategically, we raced very well. We knew based on where we came out, we would have a chance later on,” Power said. “I feel good for the whole team, where we stand in the championship is indicative.”
Greatness is hard to ignore. Although he finished third, Alex Palou became the fourth driver in IndyCar Series history to win three championships in a row, clinching his three-peat Sunday in Portland with…

Two teams remained in the Eugene Regional as the Cal Poly Mustangs (43-19, 23-7 Big West) took on the No. 21-ranked Arizona Wildcats (42-18, 18-12 Big 12) on Sunday for a chance to move on to the Super Regional.
In the bottom of the sixth, Arizona was in the driver's seat up 8-0 but looking for more after an error got a baserunner on. With two outs, junior center fielder Aaron Walton was up to bat but behind in the count 1-2. He paid no mind and on the fourth pitch blasted one deep to left-center field and over the wall. It made it a double-digit lead for the Wildcats, and this was Walton’s third homer of the game. This makes Walton the tenth Arizona player in history to hit for a homer hat trick, a day after junior shortstop Mason White became the ninth. The offense didn’t stop after Walton’s third bomb as Arizona would take the victory 14-4.
“Obviously overwhelmed with emotion to get out of this regional,” Arizona head coach Chip Hale said. “We knew coming here…

Without their host, the Eugene Regional chugged along with Game 4 as the Arizona Wildcats (40-18, 18-12 Big 12) took on the Utah Valley Wolverines (33-27, 13-11 WAC) with a 6:00 p.m. first pitch on Saturday.
In the top of the fourth, Arizona junior center fielder Mason White hammered a green light 3-1 pitch deep to center field. While a huge postseason home run, this blast would be rather irrelevant until it’s realized this was White’s third of the game, as he became the ninth Arizona player in history to hit for three homers in a game. This made it 7-2 Wildcats and chipped in to the cakewalk 14-4 win.
“It's really cool,” White said. “We saw the wind when we got here, during BP, and then nothing changed during the game. We just hit like we know how to hit. You see it at Hi Corbett Field, it really doesn't help out with the wind blowing in, and it's a really big field, but when we get in a park like this, I think it really shows.”

The No. 5-ranked Oregon Ducks (42-15, 22-8 Big Ten) had their backs against the wall and the season on the line as they stepped into Game 3 of the Eugene Regional against the Cal Poly Mustangs (41-18, 23-7 Big West).
The Ducks were in a battle in the top of the seventh. The frame before, Cal Poly had inched closer with a solo homer to make it a 6-5 Oregon advantage. A base hit from junior designated hitter Dominic Hellman started the inning, but senior first baseman Jacob Walsh grounded into a double play to clear the bases. Reviving what seemed like a dead frame, junior right fielder Drew Smith blistered a pitch deep to left-center field that extended the Oregon lead. Before Ducks fans could even celebrate, senior left fielder Jeffrey Heard golfed a low pitch out to left field and into the Oregon bullpen. The back-to-back shots would make it 8-5, but it wouldn’t be enough as the Mustangs would score five unanswered and take the victory 10-8.

The 2025 Oregon Ducks never seemed to get it all clicking at once, and on Saturday, they couldn’t click in the clutch moments, costing them their season.
The Eugene Regional’s No. 1 seed Oregon Ducks (42-15, 22-8 Big Ten) squared off against the No. 3 seed Cal Poly Mustangs in the third game of action this weekend.
Oregon entered this game after the crushing loss to Utah Valley to open its regional play, out-hitting the Wolverines 10-5. Its opponent, Cal Poly, suffered a similar fate; entering the game after out-hitting No. 2 seed Arizona 10-2 but ultimately falling with a final of 3-2.
After last night’s loss, the solution for Oregon seemed clear: its star sluggers needed to show up in the big moments. While that is easier said than done, its Utah Valley matchup showed a lack of clutch from its most important hitters.
Now facing the end of their season — and some of their college careers — the Ducks looked to their ace, junior LHP Grayson Grinsell. Grinsell…

Fans packed PK Park for No. 12-ranked Oregon Baseball’s (41-14, 22-8 Big Ten) first game of the NCAA Eugene Regionals, where the Ducks faced off against the Utah Valley Wolverines (32-27, 13-11 WAC).
Oregon’s starter Jason Reitz had a career day, but the mistakes of his teammates left too much of a mountain for him to climb alone.
“It is what it is,” said Reitz. “The bottom line is I don’t feel like I did my job to the standard I needed to, to help us win the game.”
The junior right-handed pitcher Reitz took the mound for Oregon and started out hot, striking out two in the first inning and trying to carry his energy to the offense. Junior slugger Mason Neville singled to begin the offense for the Ducks, but after junior left fielder Anson Aroz’s strikeout, he was left stranded along with Drew Smith at first base.
Reitz’s swing and miss stuff was electric on Friday. In fact they only made contact with three pitches through the first two innings. Utah Valley…

The atmosphere was booming at PK Park as the No. 5-ranked Oregon Ducks took on the Utah Valley Wolverines for Game 2 of the Eugene Regional.
Nerves sat heavy throughout the stadium in the bottom of the eighth as Oregon stared down the barrel of a major upset from the Wolverines. Down 6-4, the Ducks had junior left fielder Anson Aroz on third, sophomore shortstop Maddox Molony on first and junior catcher Chase Meggers at the plate. On a 0-2 count, Meggers flew out to left field, but deep enough for Aroz to test the arm. Aroz bolted. The throw came in, and the catcher dropped the ball, but Aroz laid a hit built more for Autzen Stadium on the catcher. The initial call was safe, but umpires took it to review to discuss if the contact was malicious. After a lengthy review, it was deemed that Aroz did not make an attempt to avoid contact and was called out. Chaos ensued as boos rained down from the stands and Oregon head coach Mark Wasikowski jumped from the dugout into the umpire…

The Eugene Regional fired up at PK Park on Friday as the Cal Poly Mustangs took on the Arizona Wildcats with a 1:00 p.m. first pitch.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Mustangs had a glimmer of hope in their eyes as the tying run was on first after a single from freshman left fielder Dante Vachini. Wildcats junior right-handed closer Tony Pluta felt no pressure as he dimmed the light by striking out the next batter. The hearts would then drop for the Cal Poly faithful as senior second baseman Ryan Fenn rolled over to third base and Arizona went around the horn for the game-ending double play. It stood after review, and the Wildcats slid into the winner’s bracket of the regional with the 3-2 win.
“Obviously a well-played game by both teams,” Arizona head coach Chip Hale said.
“Great defense, great pitching. We got a win, and that’s all that matters. To be frank, we weren’t very happy with our offense, obviously, but fantastic starting pitching by [Owen Kramkowski]…
