Oregon Men's Basketball falls in OT to Arizona State

KWVA Sports - Dec 05, 2021

Written Story by Levi Profitt

Oregon Men's Basketball went down to the Arizona State Sun Devils in an overtime 69-67 wild one Sunday night at Matthew Knight Arena. It was a battle that went down to the wire, and featured Sun Devils guard Jay Heath knocking down what would be the game-winning three pointer with 3.5 seconds left in OT.

The game started slow for both teams, with poor shooting, and sloppy turnovers from both sides early. It picked up throughout the 1st half, however, as both teams would end the half shooting just over 44%. It was a tight first half that would prove similar of what would follow, as the game would be a nail biter. Quincy Guerrier and Jacob Young were some of the lone bright spots for the Ducks in the first half offensively, putting up 8 and 6 points respectively. Oregon was able to play nice defense in the half, keeping them afloat, and eventually leading to a 31-30 Oregon lead…

Oregon Women's Basketball Hangs on for Tough Win vs Portland

Written Story by Knight Jarecki

PORTLAND, Ore. — The 18th ranked Oregon Women's Basketball team defeated to the Portland Pilots in a gritty 62-59 thriller Saturday Night at the Chiles Center.

The first quarter was a sloppy one for both teams. Through the first 5 minutes of play, both teams combined for 5 total turnovers due to both teams implementing a successful full court press. The stingy defense paid off for both sides as the Ducks held Portland to just 4-12 shooting and the Pilots minimized the Ducks offense to just 6-16 shooting including a mere 1-7 from the beyond the arc. Despite the tough defense, Oregon led 14-10 behind 5 points from Sydney Parrish and 4 points from Sedona Prince.

The tight defense continued into the second quarter as both teams remained locked in on the defensive side of the ball. Oregon began the quarter just 2-8 shooting and Portland had a four minuet stretch without a…

STORY: Deja Vu Strikes as Utah Gashes Oregon Again in Pac-12 Championship, 38-10

After falling to Utah 38-7 just 13 days ago in Salt Lake City, the Ducks had a second shot against the Utes in Las Vegas for the Pac-12 crown. However, Utah proved that the first time wasn't a fluke; drubbing Oregon from start to finish for another commanding victory over the Ducks.

Utah scored twice in the first quarter behind a lengthy 10:47 min drive that ended in a TD to start the game, and then a Devin Lloyd pick-six with 4:16 left to play in the first. That score remained for most of the first half as Noah Sewell and Verone McKinley III bailed out Oregon's somber offense with interceptions. At the end of the first half, however, the Utes punched Oregon in the mouth. Dalton Kincaid caught an 11-yard pass to make it 20-0 (missed PAT), and then Anthony Brown gifted the Utes the ball back with his second INT, resulting in a FG and a 23-0 halftime lead for Utah.

Oregon drove down the field to start the second half but ultimately settled on a FG to make it 23…
