Other former Ducks performing included safety Verone McKinley III (who led the nation in interceptions), cornerback Mykael Wright, running back CJ Verdell, wide receivers Devon Williams and Johnny Johnson III. PREVIEW: Oregon Softball Kicks off Difficult April with Road Series @ No. 2 UCLA

Written by Ryan Oppenheimer

Oregon Softball (24-5) lost some points in the polls after winning 2 of 3 in their previous home series vs Cal, dropping from No. 12 to 13 in the USA Softball poll. While Cal was certainly a capable opponent, the Ducks will have a much tougher test this weekend as they travel to Westwood to face No. 2 UCLA (28-3).

Senior infielder Allee Bunker spoke of the team’s resilience and looks forward to carrying it over into this weekend. “I think this team is really good at coming back from behind… it might not always be the prettiest win… but a win is a win,” she said.

UCLA, which ranks top 10 in both ERA and batting average on the year, is sure to give Oregon few opportunities to shift momentum in their favor. There will be little margin for error if head coach Melyssa Lombardi’s Ducks want to fly home with a series win.

Oregon has one of the toughest April schedules in the country, facing 3 top 25 squads and 5 top 40…

Oregon Baseball Rallies in Ninth, Wins 4-3 in 11.

By Liam Baker

Comeback victories are becoming the norm for this Ducks team and today was no different. The Ducks (18-7) trailed San Francisco (14-14) 3-2 heading into the ninth, but scored once in the ninth and again in the 11th to win 4-3. The Ducks managed just six hits, their second lowest of the season, but managed to pull out the win thanks to some clutch hitting and stellar pitching.

The Ducks' first-inning woes looked like they were going to continue when Scott Ellis, making his first career start, allowed the first two Dons to reach via a hit-by-pitch and walk. Ellis responded by getting three straight outs highlighted by a strike out of Gabe Giosso after Jack Scanlon threw out Luke Keaschall trying to steal third base. The Ducks looked to pick up right where they left off yesterday in the bottom of the first when Tanner Smith and Colby Shade both reached via error, but Brennan Milone's double-play killed Oregon's chances of picking up some early runs…
