Oregon Baseball Scores 5 Late for Comeback Victory Against Utah
By Knight Jarecki
EUGENE, OR — Oregon Baseball (12-6) has been a team of comebacks this season. After picking up their 5th comeback win of the season Friday night, Oregon came from behind again on Saturday as the Ducks scored 5 runs in the 8th inning to beat Utah (11-6-1) 8-6. In their last 4 victories, the Ducks have trailed in every game only to rally back for the win.
Oregon got the offense started in the first inning. Brennan Milone launched a ball over the left-field fence on a solo shot for his 5th home run of the season and second in the past two days to give the Ducks an early 1-0 advantage. Isaac Ayon started the game with 8 straight outs and was on his way for his 9th consecutive out, but a throwing error by Sam Novitske kept the 3rd inning alive for Utah. After the error from Novitske, Utah scored 3 runs on 3 hits which were highlighted by a TJ Clarkson RBI single…

The Oregon Baseball team is coming off an extremely successful weekend, as they traveled to The Farm and took two of three from the then #5 Stanford Cardinal, all while keeping their hot bats against a good pitching staff and showing immense resilience against a very strong squad. Though I was personally not too high on them, the Ducks are proving to be a team with a whole lot of hitting, but also one that is lacking in the pitching department. However, since they are somewhat self-described as a team with a short list of preseason expectations, I’m sure Coach Wasikowski and Oregon fans are all content with the strengths of this team in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year. This weekend, the University of Utah Utes will come to PK Park as the Ducks play their first home Pac-12 series of the season. In this article, I’ll be breaking down the game by game pitching matchups, projected lineups, and my predictions for the outcomes of these games.

By Jonah Bruneau
For the first time in two years, Jane Sanders Stadium played host to a full capacity crowd of roughly 2,000 spectators for the Oregon Ducks' Softball home opener. The Ducks did not disappoint as they took control of the game early after two three-run innings in the first and second innings. When all was said and done, Oregon shutout the Portland State Vikings by the final score of 7-0 in seven innings. Under blue skies and temperatures in the sixties, the atmosphere inside "The Jane" was evidently back to normal.
Fifth year Senior Jordan Dail got the start in this one and did not let it go to waste as she got the win, putting up five scoreless innings along with striking out two and giving up just three hits. Junior Makenna Kliethermes then took over the circle in the sixth and pitched two shutout innings herself while giving up only one hit and sitting down two as well. As for the offense, Junior Vallery Wong opened up the…
