Oregon Softball Bounces Back with Victory Over Cal in Game Two
Written by Jonah Bruneau
The atmosphere inside Jane Sanders Stadium was electric and boisterous for Game Two between the Oregon Ducks and the California Golden Bears of Berkeley. The Ducks were looking to bounce back from a disappointing 11-2 loss on Friday evening, in which they were able to do so as Oregon was able to hold on and take the victory by the final score of 8-6. Four of Oregon's eight runs came on wild pitches, while Cal starter and only pitcher of the game Haylei Archer threw a total of seven wild pitches. Archer went the distance for Cal, tallying an astonishing 146 pitches thrown in the game.
On the mound and getting the start for Oregon was Freshman Stevie Hansen, who has really become the star in the Ducks' pitching staff this season. Hansen pitched the first four innings while giving up three earned runs, all of which were solo home runs. Fifth year Senior Jordan Dail then took over the circle for the Ducks in the fifth, but…

The Oregon Baseball team was riding high after a five game win streak, but timely Trojan hitting and poor execution of the Oregon pitching staff allowed USC to come away with a victory, 6-5. Oregon had righty Isaac Ayon on the bump, and he began the day hot, striking out four in his first three innings without allowing a run. However, his offspeed pitches began to falter, and that coupled with a lack of fastball location to allow the Trojans to climb back into the game. In the end, Matt Dallas plunked a batter with the bases loaded and the game tied to give USC a lead they would not let slip.
Oregon's offense looked good from the beginning, as a second inning Anthony Hall home run gave the Ducks an early lead. After struggling early in the season, Hall has picked it up, going 9-21 with all three of his home runs coming in the past six games. He finished the day 1-4, but had good at bats in each of them.…

Blue and sunny skies set the backdrop over PK Park for Game One of a three-game weekend set between the Oregon Ducks and the USC Trojans, who were 13-6 going into Friday's game. The Ducks came into the game on a four-game winning streak after sweeping Utah last weekend, and going to Spokane and defeating the 23rd ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs on Tuesday. Oregon was able to extend that streak to five straight on Friday evening with a 9-7 victory over the Trojans. The Ducks' red hot offense continued to barrel up the ball as they tallied 15 more hits in this game, which now makes it ten consecutive games where the Ducks have mounted double-digit hits in a single contest.
In this one, Freshman Jacob Walsh led the way going 3-5 at the dish, including an RBI single in the bottom of the 4th inning. The power continued as well for Oregon as Sophomore Josh Kasevich opened up the scoring in the bottom of the 1st with a three-run home…

Written By Jonah Bruneau
A huge weekend for Oregon Baseball was capped off Sunday as the Ducks completed a three-game series sweep at home against the Utah Utes, who held a solid 11-4-1 record coming into the weekend. The Ducks were able provide plenty of offense once again Sunday, which helped lead to a 7-2 victory on a crisp and overcast early afternoon inside PK Park. This is now Oregon's second series sweep this season, with the first coming against St. John's back in February. However this sweep seems to have more meaning and impact, coming against a talented PAC-12 opponent. Between both Stanford and Utah, the Ducks are now 5-1 in their conference.
Junior Caleb Sloan got the start in Sunday's series finale, an unfamiliar position for him as it was just his second start of the season. Sloan has become a staple in the bullpen for the Ducks, but Head Coach Mark Wasikowski has made it visually clear that he wants to see adaptability this…
