BSB | Oregon Outplayed by Niagara in Wednesday Matinee
By Aiden Hess
EUGENE - Following a home series loss to the UCLA Bruins over the weekend, the Ducks returned to PK Park for a one game midweek matchup with the Niagara Purple Eagles. Unfortunately for Oregon, the chips did not fall in their favor as they were defeated by a score of 8-5 Wednesday afternoon.
The Ducks now find themselves on a three game losing skid as their record fell to 9-6 on the season. The struggles have seemed to come mainly from the mound as Oregon has allowed a combined 32 runs in their previous 3 contests. Turner Spoljaric was given his first start of the season, but proved to take the role of an opener rather than a starter. Spoljaric, a primarily bullpen arm, went 1+ innings allowing three earned runs on four hits and two walks. Oregon burned through the majority of their relievers sending eight different arms to piece together nine full innings in a losing effort.

Eugen OR – After an underwhelming season, the Oregon Ducks will host the UC Irvine Anteaters at Matthew Knight Arena on Wednesday at 8pm. Oregon was able to head into the Pac-12 Tournament with momentum thanks to a 3 game winning streak to finish of the season. Unfortunately for the Ducks, they fell short in the tournament after reaching the semi finals against UCLA. With that loss, all hope of a ticket into the NCAA Tournament was lost, and the NIT became the reality. Oregon will look to have a revenge game against UC Irvine after a demoralizing 69-56 defeat to the Anteaters in just the second game of the season.
Oregon
The shooting of the Ducks has been a weakness all season long. As a team, they shot just 32% from 3-point range during the season, ranking them just seventh in the Pac-12. In their early season matchup against UC Irvine, Oregon's inability to knock down shots was pivotal in…

BSB | Ducks can't overcome early offensive struggles
By Kent Williams
Audio Story
Facing off against the #13 UCLA Bruins(11-3, 1-1 Pac-12) for game 2 of their conference opening series, the Oregon Ducks(9-4, 1-1 Pac-12) took the loss 8-7 to split the series going into Sunday's finale. Taking the loss for the Ducks was righty Leo Uelmen(1-2, 4.42 ERA) in his 4th start of the season. Opposing Uelmen for the Bruins was righty Alonzo Tredwell(3-0, 1.59 ERA), a top ranked draft prospect who showed the Ducks why he is so highly regarded.
After Friday's great pitching performance from the Ducks, game 2 was a different story. As a unit, Oregon would give up 4 home runs to the Bruins, while also walking 5 and hitting 3 more batters. UCLA got to Uelmen early with a home run from Duce Gourson in the 2nd inning, and another in the 4th from JonJon Vaughns. Things really unraveled in the 5th inning for the Ducks starter, giving up a 3-run longshot that would end his outing,…

EUGENE, OR - To kick off Pac-12 conference play, the Oregon Ducks (9-3, 1-0 P12) faced off against the #13 UCLA Bruins (10-3, 0-1 P12), taking game one 6-2. Heading into the series, the Ducks are fresh out of a USD sweep from last weekend's match up with the Toreros. The Bruins flew up to Eugene after going 4-0 last week in the Southern California Baseball Classic and beating Long Beach State on Tuesday.
Junior RHP, Jake Brooks, took the mound for the Bruins with a 4.30 ERA going into the game. The Ducks' offense came out strong, with Ducks striking first. That run was the first first-inning run UCLA has given up all season. For the Ducks, another junior righty took the mound with Jace Stoffal starting. Jace's pitch count rose over his limit in the 4 innings he pitch, passing his set max of 85 pitches. A phenomenal outing for Stoffal with him breaking his personal record of 4 Ks in a game, with a whopping 9 Ks during his…
