SB Preview: #19 Oregon visits Washington for top 25 clash to kick off conference play
By: Ian Sutliff
Eugene, OR-- On Friday, the Oregon Ducks will head to Seattle to face the Washington Huskies for a three-game set before facing the University of Seattle on Monday. It will be a good test for both squads after playing some really solid softball to start the season (the two teams have combined for a 34-7 record so far). Washington was ranked 11th in the latest polls but are not as battle tested as the Ducks who faced a gauntlet of top-25 schools in the Mary Nutter classic. It will be an entertaining weekend to say the least for two of the elite squads in college softball.
Oregon:
After a so-so opening weekend in Puerto Vallarta, it was fair to wonder if the Ducks, who were a fringe top-25 team at the time, would be ready for a tough rest of the season schedule. Since that 3-2 start to the season, Oregon has gone 13-2 and has knocked off elite squads like Florida, Missouri, Northwestern, as well as dominant showings in…

EUGENE, OR - For the fourth time this weekend, the Oregon baseball team sent the visiting University of San Diego Toreros with a new loss on their schedule, as they finished the series with a 5-1 victory.
Freshmen Matthew Grabmann and Austin Anderson combined for five innings of one-run ball before a rain delay-turned snow delay forced Anderson to exit abruptly. The trio of Freshmen Dylan McShane and Ian Umlandt, as well as veteran Matt Dallas, held the Toreros scoreless through the seventh. Ending the day on the bump, Ducks closer Josh Mollerus pitched a nearly flawless eighth and ninth, even with the game not being a true save situation.
Head Coach Mark Wasikowski has continued to mention the different combinatorics he has at his lineup disposal, yet he featured the same nine as the game prior. One name he praised was sophomore backup catcher Bennett Thompson, whose steady presence and leadership behind the plate has garnered positive…

The Bushnell Beacons beat the Corban Warriors 8-5 in game one and 11-6 in game two of their second doubleheader in two days in Springfield.
Leadoff batter and shortstop Ethan Stacy went 4-for-6 with two walks, three RBIs, and six runs (scoring in each plate appearance in game 2) on the day. Third basemen Cayden Delozier had a great start to the day, ripping two doubles in his first two at bats of the game. Continuing his great walk-off form from yesterday, Jacob Stoner found himself on the base path very often today, getting on base five times and scoring three times. DH Jeff Fripp also shined today with a 4-for-8 performance with a walk, 6 RBIs, and a run scored. Despite the offensive beatdowns, the biggest standouts today was Bushnell’s starting pitchers, Ethan Paulson and Adam Sabatino.
Paulson had a difficult first two outings this season, holding a 13.50 era, but his form drastically improved after 5 innings with four hits…

Written Story by John Evans
Eugene, OR - The Oregon Ducks faced off against the University of San Diego Toreros in the third game of a four-game series. After winning the first two games on Thursday and Friday, the Ducks looked to follow up with another win in order to clinch the series victory. Oregon was led by freshman Jackson Pace, making his second start and third appearance on the mound of the year. Starting for the Toreros was righty Garrett Rennie, who had posted a 0.75 ERA in his first two starts this season.
Pace had the best start of his young career so far, not allowing any runs across six strong innings, and striking out two batters in the process. While the strikeout numbers from his other appearances were not there today, Pace was able to limit the Toreros to weak contact, and with a strong defensive performance behind him, keep them scoreless as well.
Pace was followed by fellow freshmen Grayson Grinsell, Dylan McShane…
