PREVIEW: #9 Oregon to face rival Oregon State with spot in Pac-12 championship on the line

By: Ian Sutliff

EUGENE, OR -- The #9 Oregon Ducks will travel to Corvallis on Saturday to take on #21 Oregon State. For the Ducks, this game will likely determine whether it makes the Pac-12 championship next weekend or not. On the other side, Oregon State is looking to spoil the Ducks’ chances of making the Rose Bowl and finish 9-3 in the regular season for the first time in ten years. The big story going into this one though is that both teams will go into this “Oregon Classic” ranked for the first time since 2012. It should be a very close one at Reser stadium and will surely have big implications for the bowl season in December.

Oregon Offense:

Bo Nix’s health will be the big factor in what this Oregon offense does on Saturday. The Auburn transfer limped off the field against Washington two weeks ago and was a game-time decision when the Ducks faced Utah last weekend. This Oregon offense has been aided heavily by his rushing…

Bushnell MBB falls to rival Corban University

Written and Audio Story by Maddie Lang

EUGENE, Ore. - Bushnell Men’s Basketball hosted long-time rival Corban University in their first conference game of the season Tuesday night in Morse Center. Corban opened the game with an early 10-0 run. It wasn’t until the 17 minute mark that the Beacon’s scored their first field goal, a three-pointer from Stevie Schlabach. The Warriors tried to maintain their momentum but a fastbreak layup against three defenders from Schlabach gave the Beacons the power to finish the half on a 18-4 run. Unfortunately for the Beacons, they were unable to maintain their momentum in the second half and fell to the Warriors 84-66.

Leading the contest in scoring for the night was Bushnell’s Schlabach. He had a total of 22 points and a shooting percentage of 66%. Schlabach was key in creating momentum for the Beacons. His most notable play was a fastbreak layup in the first half where he sliced through three defenders. Schlabach has been one…

STORY: Bushnell women open conference play with a statement victory

By Kent Williams

Audio story

Following a huge win last Wednesday, the Bushnell Beacons women's basketball team(4-2, 1-0 CCC) were looking to start conference play in a similar fashion. And facing off against the Corban Warriors(2-4, 0-1 CCC) was the perfect opportunity to do so, as the Beacons had won their previous six contests against them. Following tonight, that tally can be increased to seven, as the Beacons played a stout defensive game on route to a 59-48 win. The final score can be deceiving, as the Warriors were able to put up a lot of points after the game had already been sealed away, and Bushnell will go into their next matchup feeling…

Oregon Women's Hoops Uses Strong Third Quarter to Down Southern Utah

Written Story by Knight Jarecki

EUGENE, OR — Finishing their fourth non-conference game of the season, #18 Oregon Women's Basketball (4-0) downed the Southern Utah Thunderbirds (2-3) 66-55 Monday night at Matthew Knight Arena. With the win, the Ducks have won 51 of their last 52 non-conference games at home and Oregon improves to 42-8 all-time in the month of November under Kelly Graves.

Oregon came into the game riding a 3-game win streak that featured three blowout victories but Southern Utah gave the Ducks their closest match to date with the 11-point victory. After Oregon led 24-15 at the end of the first, Southern Utah played the Ducks competitively in the second as Oregon struggled from the field shooting 33.3% to the Thunderbirds' 41.7% shooting resulting in a 10-point lead at the half for the Ducks at 35-25. It seemed like the Ducks had some extra motivation after the halftime break as Oregon shot 8-16 from the field…
