Eugene, OR-- It’s been tough going for the Ducks lately, with Oregon losing seven of their last eight. With Utah on slate in Salt Lake City, Oregon will need to change their fortune quickly as the Utes rank last in the PAC-12 with a 8-18-1 record in conference play. With Jace Stoffal still potentially sidelined as the series starts, Logan Mercado will get the ball for Thursday’s series opener.
Oregon:
The problem for the Ducks over the last two weeks hasn’t been the offense. Over the last eight games, Oregon is averaging 5.4 runs per game. It’s a modest number, but it is by no means a mark of a struggling offense. Over the weekend, Oregon pitching allowed 43 runs over three games which was the most since 2019. The bullpen struggled and starting pitching had a combined ERA of 25.58 in just 6 ⅓ innings. Jackson Pace was a big contributor of that number as the freshman failed to record an out on Saturday while…

BSB | Pitching Struggles Continue, Ducks Blown Out for a Second Straight Night.
Written Story By Wilder Lewis
The Oregon Ducks faced off against the Washington Huskies in the second game of three in their final home series. Coming off of their defeat last night (14-5) the Ducks were looking to get back on a winning path ahead of Sunday's game. However, things didn’t really start out well for the Ducks as Washington ripped off 9 runs in the first inning as all of their batters scored.
The Huskies were able to do this as they hit 4 straight singles off of Jackson Pace. This was followed by a batter being hit, two doubles, a walk, and an error. Eventually, the Huskies were up by seven with one left on base, and without even getting one out Pace’s night was done and Spoljaric came in to replace him. After giving up a two-run homer to the 9th batter of the night, DeCarlo. Spoljaric was able to get the 3 outs, sending cheers through the PK Park stands.
Oregon then got their chance to try and return some runs but…
