SB: Oregon heads home ready to take on BYU, ASU

The #3 Oregon Ducks (29-0) came back from Salt Lake City riding the coattails on a pair of wins over the Utah Utes. BSB: Oregon drops final game of series vs Washington 12-3

Following a pair of victories over #22 Washington, the Oregon Ducks were unable to complete the sweep. Getting the start was freshman Zack Noll, who went just two innings while allowing six earned runs, including a grand slam by UW's Willie MacIver. The Oregon bullpen came in afterwards, using six arms, who combined for seven innings of work with six runs allowed and 10 strikeouts. Gabe Matthews continued his good weekend, contributing an RBI double in the sixth. Following the defeat, Oregon drops to 15-6 on the year and 4-2 in conference. The Oregon Ducks took the series from the Washington Huskies in another hard-fought contest. Oregon starter Matt Mercer pitched seven shutout innings allowing six hits and earning seven strikeouts. The lone run of the game came in the first inning after a Gabe Matthews RBI (11)--his fourth of the series--on a double (5) to left field. The Ducks improve to their overall record to 15-5 (4-1).The series concludes tomorrow afternoon (2 PM) at PK Park where the Ducks will look for a sweep.
