Dillon Brooks Hits Buzzer-Beater Triple to Lift Oregon Over #2 UCLA

Junior forward Dillon Brooks lead the Ducks with 23 points and 9 rebounds in Oregon's 89-87 victory over the #2 UCLA Bruins, on Tuesday night at Matthew Knight Arena. However, it was the final shot he hit that mattered most. Oregon was down by 1 when Brooks connected on a 3-point shot with just .8 seconds left in the game. Following the Brooks triple, UCLA's Freshmen guard missed the half-court bomb, which sealed the upset victory for Oregon. Oregon finished on 11-30 from the 3-point line, including 7-14 from downtown in the 1st half. UCLA controlled the 3-point line the 2nd half, shooting 7-14. The high scoring Bruins came into the game ranked second in the nation in shooting (95.8 points per game). UCLA finished shooting 34-64 on 19 assists. Jordan Bell Leads Oregon to 9th Straight Victory Against Fresno State, 75-63.

The Oregon Men's Basketball team finished non-conference play with a 75-63 victory over Fresno State Tuesday night at Matthew Knight Arena. Oregon finished shooting 48.1% from the field, and 20% from downtown. Oregon found itself in foul trouble for most of the game, with early fouls taking junior forwards Dillon Brooks and Jordan Bell out early. Oregon managed to rally away from Fresno State late with two big slams from Bell, who finished the game with 23 points on 8-11 shooting. Oregon and Fresno State both snatched up 31 rebounds, matching one another in physicality most of the game. Fresno State's junior guard Jahmel Taylor came into the game as the nation's second best 3-point shooter, but Oregon found a way to hold him to 0-7 shooting from downtown. Despite Idaho rallying all the way back from 16 down to almost pull out the victory, the Oregon Ducks were able to hold on and get the three point win.
