BSB: Cardinal sweep series behind impressive offensive showing, defeat #25 Ducks 10-4.
The Oregon Ducks took on the Stanford Cardinal Sunday afternoon in final game of the series and were unable to keep pace with the Stanford bats as the Cardinal pushed across ten runs en route to a 10-4 victory. Isaiah Carranza got the starting nod for the Ducks, though he was chased after only 1.2 innings pitched; giving up 4 earned runs and 5 hits. The Oregon freshman trio of Matthews, Dyer, and Steer drove in 3 of the 4 runs scored for the Ducks, with Kyle Kasser chipping in 3 hits as well. The Cardinal sweep marks the first home series loss for the Ducks this season, as well as pushing the Oregon losing streak to 5. The Ducks will take on #1 Oregon State Tuesday in Corvallis as they'll look to end the losing streak against their arch rival.
