Looking to finish a potential sweep against the Lafayette Leopards, the Oregon Ducks came into today riding high off of a string of three-straight victories with a 5-1 record.

Taking the mound to start for the Ducks was Kevin Seitter, a senior transfer from Quinnipiac starting for the second time this season, recording three earned runs and two strikeouts in four innings pitched.

The game would swing in Oregon’s favor fast, as they would score one run in the first inning off of a wild pitch, followed by a flurry of runs in the second inning as the Ducks brought five across. These runs would come courtesy of Chase Meggers and Carter Garate singles, with Jeffrey Heard recording a double to notch a run batted in of his own.

Seitter would have a dominant day on the bump which started with him shoving in the early innings, recording eight strikeouts in his first five while allowing two earned runs, one…

EUGENE, Ore - The Oregon Ducks women’s lacrosse team (2-0) will host the Marist Red Foxes (0-2) today in their third game of the season. The Ducks have historically struggled, but they have turned around under new head coach Jessica Drummond.

Oregon Ducks:

The Ducks are undefeated in two games, scoring 19 goals in their opener against the Youngstown State Penguins, and 17 against the St Francis Red Flash in their second game. The 36 goals and 15 assists have given Oregon a great offensive display, and the Ducks have momentum in the last of the three home games at the start of the season. Sophomore midfielder is the offensive leader of the team right now, with nine goals and three assists, and the team will look for her to continue to lead the way.

After scoring eight goals in 17 games played in the 2023 season, sophomore Anna Simmons is a clear rising star on the team, recording a team-leading nine goals in two games, with six coming in the Ducks’ matchup against St. Francis. Second on the Ducks in goals is Haley Cummins, a senior experiencing a later-blossom breakout with seven goals, one shy of her previous season-high. The Ducks opened up their home season with a 4 game series vs Lafayette this weekend at PK Park. After the Ducks had everyone in the lineup record a hit last night they were able to claim the first game for 4 by a score of 17-3. Both teams met back up today in sunny Eugene for a double header in which Oregon were able to control a good portion of.

In the first game of the day the Ducks came out flying as leadoff batter Justin Cassella drove a big shot out for a lead off HR. The offense didn’t slow there however as Oregon had two 6 run innings in the 3rd and 5th. The latter of which was capped off by Cassella’s second HR of the night this time being a 3 run shot giving him 5 total RBI’s on the night. Offense wasn’t the only factor for the Ducks in this one though as sophomore pitcher Grayson Grinsell was on the mound for Oregon and he had himself a new career day. Grinsell recorded 10 strikeouts in only…

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Bushnell Baseball lost games 3 and 4 of their home-opening series against the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds Saturday, falling 9-2 in the first game of the day and 6-5 in the next. UBC won the series three games to one.

The Beacons got solid starts from both of their starters. Nate Rasmussen went five innings deep in game 3, giving up two hits and no walks while recording two strikeouts and allowing one run on a second inning balk. Meanwhile, Jordan Wilson got the scoring started for the Beacons with a solo shot to the scoreboard in the fourth inning.

But things fell apart when the Beacons went to their bullpen. Alec Gums relieved Rasmussen to start the sixth but didn't get out of the frame, allowing a walk, a double and a Trent Lenihan two-RBI single before exiting and recording his second loss of the season.
