MBB | The Ducks Runaway With Win Over Eastern Washington 81-47
The Oregon Ducks took down the Eastern Washington Eagles in their first game of the 2K Empire Classic in emphatic fashion, winning it 81-47. The Ducks were able to get this margin of victory in large part because of a 21-0 run in the first half, leading them to a 21-6 lead. Also, the Eagles shooting woes from their first game against Syracuse followed them into tonight, especially the first half, as the team shot 4-24 from three-point range and 5-34 from the field. Their percentage did improve in the second half though, as the Eagles shot 42.9% from three, but it wasn't enough as the Ducks shot an impressive 58.3% from three to increase their lead. The intangibles were also major factors in this game, as the Ducks used their height advantage to outscore their opponents 30-2 in the paint and out-rebound the Eagles 50-34. The Ducks improve to 1-1 on the season and 1-0 in the tournament, as their next matchup will be in New York on Thursday versus Iowa. For Eastern Washington, the Eagles… Read More
