In the quarterfinals of the Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament, NCU Men’s Basketball lost in heart breaking fashion Wednesday night, 78-77.  

It was a game of ebb and flows, which at first benefitted the Beacons, who at one point were up 30-17 midway through the first half. But then Southern Oregon, led by Tristen Holmes made a run of their own to get the game to within two points at the end of the first half.

In the second half it was much of the same. Southern Oregon went on another run to begin the second half. At one point in the second half Southern Oregon was up by 15 before going over six minutes without a basket, allowing NCU to claw their way back into the game.

With just under a minute remaining and NCU down 4, the Beacons had a chance. Austin Tyner was fouled and purposely missed the free throw to try and get another offensive possession before time ran out. He missed it, Sothern Oregon corralled the rebound, but then traveled,…

Oregon Women's Basketball is coming off just their second loss of the season after falling to in-state rival Oregon State 67-62 Monday night. They look to get back in the win column as they face UCLA on Friday at 8 pm and USC Sunday at 11 am. With the reigning National Power Forward of the year out indefinitely with injury, Head Coach Kelly Graves is relying on a veteran like Oti Gildon and Erin Boley to step up the challenge. The players and Head Coach spoke to the media before their first practice of the week and ahead of Senior Night.

Oregon Women's Basketball is coming off just their second loss of the season after falling to in-state rival Oregon State 67-62 Monday night. They look to get back in the win column as they face UCLA on Friday at 8 pm and USC Sunday at 11 am. Oregon lost a nail-biter when the Bruins travelled to Matthew Knight Arena and shot very well to beat the Trojans earlier in the season. No. 2 Oregon women's basketball had its NCAA-best 17-game win streak snapped Monday night, falling 67-62 in the second-leg of the 2019 Civil War series at No. 12 Oregon State.

Just a few nights removed from its woeful perimeter performance in Eugene where the Beavers went just 6-21 from three, Oregon State built an early 20-15 first quarter lead after hitting four of its first six from beyond the arc. Though the shooting cooled down in the second, the Beavers maintained its lead into the break, 33-27. Oregon generated seven turnovers and got up more shots in the opening half, but struggled with just 33% shooting from the field compared to the blistering 50% from Oregon State. Despite keeping its percentage above 50% throughout the third quarter, Oregon began its slow climb back in the game without star forward Ruthy Hebard, who exited the game in the second quarter with a knee injury.
