Oregon Women's Basketball defeated the Buffalo Bulls 102-82 at home on Sunday to move to 4-0 on the season. It was the Ducks second win over a 2018 tournament team after beating Syracuse last weekend. In fact, Buffalo is a team who made the Sweet 16 last season. Oregon really owned this game from the start behind their hot shooting. The Ducks finished shooting 55% from FG and 50% from three. Most impressively though, they made 34 of their 38 free throws, good for 89%. Ruthy Hebard was the most efficient shooter on the team, as she shot 8-of-9 from FG and 9-of-10 from FT, finishing with 25 points. Satou Sabally shot 7-of-11 for 20 points. Maite Cazorla and Erin Boley both added 15 points. Boley shot 5-of-8 from three. Sabrina Ionescu didn't have her best game, as she committed seven turnovers and didn't get her first field goal until the second half. The Ducks' offense got off to a scalding start, out-gaining the Sun Devils 364-142 in the first half. Oregon took its first two-score lead at 14-3 via CJ Verdell's first career touchdown catch early in the second quarter, which added to his touchdown run from the first. UO then struck through the air, as Justin Herbert and Dillon Mitchell renewed one of the country's best quarterback-receiver duos through a 57-yard end zone bomb late in the frame. Scores by both sides led to a 28-13 Oregon lead at the end of the first half. Sledding got a lot tougher from there for the Ducks, though.
