Oregon Volleyball started out its 2019 campaign strong with a dominant 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-13) victory over UC Irvine. The Ducks were led by veterans on Friday with dominant performances from Willow Johnson (12 kills, 5 digs), Ronika Stone (10 kills, .769, 4 blocks) and new OH Brooke Nuneviller (8 kills, 6 digs). Oregon hit .536, fired 7 service aces, and had 12 blocks. Oregon used a handful of new young players, but most notable was Kylie Robinson, who had 29 assists. The Ducks also saw contributions from FR Bea Wetton, FR Taylor Williams, RSFR Karson Bacon, and FR Georgia Murphy. Oregon will look to move to 2-0 on the season Saturday against Boston College at MKA, starting at 6pm.

Oregon football will go toe to toe against one of the SEC's finest on Saturday, in a matchup that the Ducks' have prepared for all offseason. Even with extensive film study, workout programs and the grind of Spring and Fall practice, there are still aspects of the game that are up in the air. Oregon's defense is tasked with stopping highly touted Freshman quarterback Bo Nix, and may have to deal with the dynamic speed of Sophomore receiver Anthony Schwartz, who is a game time decision with a left hand injury.

Since then, Oregon Football has experienced a roller-coaster of peaks and valleys. But now, nearly nine years later, Oregon feels it has a chance to rejoin the national spotlight it once had. Led by Heisman candidate Justin Herbert and one of the best offensive lines in the country, #11 Oregon returns a talented and experienced team in position to make a big push this season. To start the year, Oregon faces a roadblock that the program is familiar with: The Auburn Tigers. Saturday's match-up represents a chance to make steps towards that lucrative national title it could taste in 2011. In order to get back into the national title picture, Oregon must get past the program that held them back from their best chance at College Football's greatest honor.
