Oregon Baseball Comes From Behind to Beat Cal 7-2.
By Liam Baker
On a rainy evening at PK Park, the Oregon Ducks (27-14) beat the California Golden Bears (20-21) 7-2. The Ducks came into the game on a three-game losing streak but were able to break the streak thanks to a great start by RJ Gordon and another offensive outburst by Anthony Hall.
RJ Gordon responded well after a rough start against Washington State last weekend and started the game with three perfect innings. Things didn't go as well for him in the fourth as Dylan Beavers led off the inning with a single and Caleb Lomavita followed two batters later with a double down the left-field line scoring Beavers. Cole Elvis was able to reach safely following an error by Drew Cowley. After two wild pitches, Lomavita scored making it 2-0 Bears. Gordon exited the game with two outs in the sixth inning, only allowing the two runs while striking out four.
Steven Zobac was on the mound for the Bears, and he held the Ducks to just four hits in 5.1…

Eugene, ORE. – Oregon softball began their last home series of the regular season on Friday with a shortened victory over Oregon State 5-0. The game was delayed at the bottom of the 5th due to rain and since the rain didn’t let up, both teams agreed to cancel the game and move on to the next one in the series with Oregon taking the victory.
Both of these Oregon teams have had hitting struggles all throughout April, and have been on long losing streaks. Coming into this series, OSU was coming off the end of a 7-game losing streak, while Oregon had lost the last 11 of 13 games. However, the Ducks’ batters had seemingly come back to form against one of the tougher pitchers in the Pac-12.
Mariah Mazon made the start for the Beavers and came into this game as the most impressive member of the OSU pitching staff. Mazon had a 1.62 ERA with 160 strikeouts. However, against the Ducks, Mazon gave up 7 hits and 5 earned runs in…

EUGENE, OR - Following a disappointing weekend in Eugene and a loss in a one-game bout versus the in-state rival Oregon State Beavers, the #25 Oregon Ducks (26-14) baseball team will stay at home for a three game matchup against the California Golden Bears (20-20).
Oregon is looking to gain momentum in this series against an unranked Cal team that has struggled with consistency throughout the season. While the Bears have multiple quality wins, including games against #17 TCU, #10 Florida State, and #6 Oregon State, they also have subpar losses to the likes of University of Illinois-Chicago and Santa Clara University. After dropping over ten spots in the polls, Oregon will need a big weekend in order to keep momentum before the full weekend versus the Beavers
Potential Starting Pitchers – Oregon
Game One: RJ Gordon
RJ Gordon really struggled in Game 1 against the Wildcats last weekend, surrendering 6…

Eugene, ORE – Throughout April, Oregon Softball has dropped consecutive series against Pac-12 opponents. Coming into this series, the Ducks have lost the last 11 of 13 games they’ve played this month. Oregon State has seen similar struggles, though not to the same extent. The Beavers are coming off a seven-game losing streak. Both teams have struggled to score runs against opponents, and this series may be a chance for both teams to flip that around as the year heads to the end of the season.
Oregon holds a slight advantage over Oregon State in the hitting department. Despite OSU posting the Pac-12’s highest number of at-bats, Oregon ranks higher in batting average, slugging %, hits, and RBIs. The Ducks batters had trouble scoring against Washington and may see better opportunities against the Beavers.
Oregon also didn’t have Jasmine Williams for 2/3 games of the series, and LHP Jordan Dail didn’t appear with the team…

Oregon Baseball Drops Third Straight at Home with Loss to Oregon State
By Jonah Bruneau
The No. 25 Oregon Ducks looked to bounce back Tuesday night against the No. 2 Oregon State Beavers after dropping two out of three this past weekend at home against Washington State. In a valiant effort to take down the leaders of the PAC-12, the Ducks fell short by the final score of 4-2. Oregon had an opportunity with the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning, but back-to-back fly-outs dashed away that last chance for a late-game comeback. The Ducks have now dropped three straight at home after winning seven of eight before the Washington State series.
Christian Ciuffetelli (Junior) got the call to start Tuesday's game against Oregon State, his first start of the season. Ciuffetelli looked good as he managed three innings of work giving up two hits, no earned runs, no walks, and two strikeouts. He is credited with the loss however as he left the game with OSU up 1-0 after a run scored on a double play in the top of the…
